Hi I think i have just missed something: so if u connect the red(power) to signal that will iluminate when turn,but what about the daytime light? How you connect the wires to have the daytime light on ? Thanks,
@MrIII
@MrIII 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, so it depends on how you supply your power to the main daytime lights. I used a fuse tap for my car. The turn signal function is powered directly from the amber bulb. I tapped directly to the positive terminal. The negative is grounded to a bolt attached to the frame of the car. Hope that clears things up.

FYI: I removed those big covers for the ends and just sealed with some clear silicone caulk and smoothed it out flush and let it cure for a day. Then installed the strips. It makes them sit a lot more flush and smooth that with the covers that come with them.

I stuck em to the side of the headlight with some double sided duck tape and it all works good. My rear light cluster is a custom made tinted set (only just legal in the UK) but the problem is my reverse light is dim (way too dim and not street legal at all). Do you have any recommendations? Like a light strip with brake, reverse (white) and I don't mind about the indicators? Just as long as they work on the 12V and have wires for the rest.

You would need a fuse tap for the fuse box approach, and check for a fuse that only gets power when you turn your car on. Yes, you can get power from your side light on the headlight with a wire tap or in the bulb's socket.

@MrIII
@MrIII 5 жыл бұрын
Easy, I wanted too and I replaced my fog light glass lenses at the same time. I had no obstacles to deal with when installing the strips. I used a fuse tap with my drls, so the led strips turn on at the same time. If I connected it directly to the battery. They would never turn off and I didn't want to install a switch.

Cant you tap into the actual DRL light wire at lamp harness for DRL and tap the Blinker light bulb harness for the yellow blinker on Strip? And ground to frame in Hood area Instead of running any wires back to fuse box inside vehicle? Is it really necessary to run to ACC in inside Fuse?
@MrIII

Maybe for your car. Once you turn on the headlights on mine, the led strip turns off. It would only work with the high beams on, since the drl and high beams use the same wire. That's why I used a fuse tap.

@MrIII
@MrIII 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Your black wire is the ground and the one with the white stripe is the hot wire or positive. You can double check with your 12v battery if the company did wire it correctly before installing and check for any defects. You can feed your positive wire with the positive terminal of you parking light with out cutting/splicing the wire. You probably will need to buy extra wire to extend your connections and for the ground you can attach the black wire to a bolt or screw that's touching metal. Hope that helps! You probably already got them installed, my bad for the late reply

I believe the slight delay is because the bulb that you’re using for your turn signal is halogen. Halogen bulbs tend to fade into brightness and fade out to off whereas LEDs are immediately on and immediately off...I.e. no delay 😉

No you just put them on wrong I have the same exact ones and I didn't use double-sided tape or anyting I hooked it directly to the signal wire and both of mine are the exact same brightness... I can also know that your left hand strip is lower than the right hand strip the left-hand one should be more closer towards the engine bay so that the strip is pointed directly out you have the strip basically lying flat on the light good. P3 why did you leave the sticky 3M part on the top what is that supposed to do hold your head down what you did didn't make any sense you got it to work yes but that's not efficient the most efficient part is the heat shrinking thing that you did

Hey, thanks for the comment! But the strips come with tape attached to them. The blue plastic covers the adhesive part. The brightness was determined from the location of the LEDs in the strip. They sit closer to the back of the strip, which has a higher illumination. The front part wasn't as bright, shown around the three minute mark. And to keep the back side of the LED facing out to the front of the headlight you have to flip the strip. To keep the amber sequential flow from center to out. I did not leave on the adhesive part on the top of the strip. At the thirteen minute mark you can see me peeling off the adhesive part. It's the white part attached to the blue plastic.

@@MrIII I know that but I thought you had it 3M tape to the other site not the part that the white adhesive part is on I know it comes standard with the white adhesive pad and the white plastic over it
