In this video I helped a friend replace the serpentine belt on his 2003 Volvo C70. I'm sure this process will be the same on many of the Volvo cars between 1999 and 2004.

Hello Robert I have a 2004 Volvo s60 and I need to replace the serpentine belt and there is no bolt for the tensioner . Just a plastic cover over the tensioner pulley with a small hole in it. How do I move the tensioner. No bolt on it just a small plastic cover.

My 1998 C70 tensioner arm has a square whole, 3/4in. SAE. Using my 3/4in. breaker bar to fully relieve the tension, I still have to use a 1/2in. flat screw driver to get the old belt off the power steering pulley.

3/5in. = T55. Had to remove washer fluid fill tube, the remove top of ECM modules cover, remove both modules, remove coolant over flow bottle from fender to get access with breaker bar. Don't have special T55 plug to put into tensioner to use a wrench which would have to be pretty long to use. Like the info on inserting the screw in the small tensioner whole to hold the tensioner back during removal & installation. Thanks. Had to replace power steering pump, found cracked serpentine belt.

after loosening the tensioner, I slid the belt off the tensioner wheel first. That made enough slack to get it off the other wheels easily.

what does the 2000 volvo c70 2.3 use, metric wrench ot T55
