Update: just received my oil report for my 4th oil change on the car from Blackstone Laboratories. My oil sample from 84,000 miles is the cleanest sample of the 3 I’ve sent in so far. Rod bearings are showing no signs of wear, indicating that they’ve either been changed before or my S63TU is just really healthy. No additional issues with the car since this video was posted ✅

I felt the same way leading up to buying mine. A few exhaust videos here and there, a couple car walkarounds, but that’s it. Plan on adding more videos as I get more service done, get the car dyno’d, etc 😃

I have had my F13 (2015) M6 coupe for 2.5 years and it's never gone wrong. It's been a perfect car! Mine is bone stock and do basic maintenence. If you just take care of it and not abuse it, it'll take care of you.

I bought an f10 m5 in May with 40k miles, and excellent service history. I also got a clean bill of health from blackstone. At this point i have 44k on it, so im right there with you, but im stock for now. With all the horror stories online, im always worried about the motor grenading. Youre definitely putting out good content for anyone in thr market for one of these cars. Hopefully i dont see any more videos from you any time soon!

I appreciate this as I just bought a 2018 m6 comp with 25,800k with stage 1 tune. I also live in San Diego, ca and paid 59k for which I’m unsure about that lol. I’m def subscribing to channel for updates and potential issue I may in counter while owning.

The evap problem replace the fuel cap. Also pcv coils and plug. I bought mine at around the same mileage. Also change to high pressure fuel pumps and cooler thermostat and you will he good to go. I daily and travel with mine 2013 and I did replace the injectors $2500. The one thing you didn't mention is that it stands out in a crowed and I always get stopped for questions

I'm pretty sure i remember seeing this for sale at a dealership a while ago on cargurus, if not then it was one spec'd exactly like it because it even had the same exact wheels
@EthanYorke11 ай бұрын
Probably was, car was for sale at the same dealer in CA for a year. Original asking price was $65,000, then $58,000, to $54,000, then I believe he had it up for $47,999 before he removed the price completely

I had a 2017 mustang GT manual that I owned since brand new. I changed exhaust, headers, added sway bars on the suspension and coil overs. I was kinda busy that time and skipped 3 maintenance services. The only issue I had was the intake manifold was bad on the 6th gear after 45k. $170 and I changed it myself, pretty easy. Other than that was pretty much changing oil and no issues. Then I got a 2017 BMW 540i with 59k miles on it for my wife. The common coolant leak happened and bad fuel pump ($1800 parts and labor), plus control arms was bad ($1200 parts and labor), plus same tank evaporator issue ($400 parts and labor). There were still more stuff to fix in the car (none of this showed on the pre buy inspection btw) that would bring the total bill to 8 thousand dollars and something. I stopped in these changes I mentioned and left the other half for the next owner because I traded-in that money pit right away in a good old amercian v8 (17 corvette grand sport)! American v8s are way way waaay less expensive to maintain compared to these germans. German cars are like Miami chicks... very expensive to maintain!! I got rid of the mustang and corvette because we had a baby and I'm barely driving now working from home, also because insurance prices are killing the bank to left a car sitting in the garage most of the time. I now have a 2021 RAM 1500 Laramie low miles... and two jetskis. I think my era of sports cars has come to an end.

This just proves people cannot maintain expensive cars, i bought a 2017 540i back in 2019 with 13k miles i tuned it at 15k fast forward 5 years im at 51k maintained very well, no problems besides the common pcv cap which was 30 dollars.

After owning a 2016 F06 M6 for 2 years and now having 42k miles on it stock, can confirm had to do oil changes and just did spark plugs for preventative maintenance but other than that has been an amazing daily drive all around. Catless downpipes coming next. What brand cats do you have on your car?

Unfortunately, I don’t know. The previous owner had installed them but I don’t have any receipts showing which ones they are, not sure if I’d be able to tell without pulling quite a few things off

What’s easier to maintain the 2014 m4 or the 2014 m6 , I’m looking at both and the m6 is pushing 700bhp with a stage 2 tune on it and 25000 kilometres , they’re both on sale for about 65000 dollars
@EthanYorke4 ай бұрын
M4 will be generally cheaper to maintain. Crank Hub is pretty much the only preventative maintenance F8X’s need, which is a bit cheaper than rods/rod bearings/all the other things M6’s can need. Gas mileage is also substantially better on the M4

@@EthanYorkebrooo I just found a 2014 m6 with only 10k miles on it with service history and the only m4s or m3s I could find have a minimum of 20k miles and are like stage 2 ? What do you suggest ? They’re both around 62k here in India
@EthanYorke2 ай бұрын
@aneeshsurendar1369 I’d stay away from lower mileage cars, especially if they’re charging a premium. Cars that sit often have as much if not more problems than cars driven regularly with bad service. Not to mention, 2014’s in general are model years you want to stay away from
@mryouknooow Жыл бұрын
how long should the car idle when cooling it down?
@EthanYorke Жыл бұрын
Not really sure an exact time on this, but I usually let it sit for at least 45 seconds to a minute. The fans will run after the car is off for another 2-3 minutes or more it seems, at least on mine

How do you like the tech in that car? Does it feel A little dated? I’m looking at getting a 2019 540i but your car is making me reconsider. I’m also here in So Cal 😎
@EthanYorke Жыл бұрын
The only feature it feels like it’s missing is CarPlay, which can be retrofitted to the OEM screen for about $600. The car doesn’t feel dated to me at all, this generation of iDrive is very responsive and nothing in the interior or infotainment feels “old”. Personally, if an M8 and an M6 were priced the same, I’d still choose the M6. The interior design is one of the best BMW has ever done imo

@ArielJLuna 7 quarts of synthetic OW20 is $100 alone, oil filter is $15, nearly every shop’s labor rate is $100+ an hour so at a minimum you’re looking at $200. MAYBE if a shop charges you the exact cost for the FCP Euro Oil Change kit, you’ll get away with paying $80 + $100 in labor. Sure, doing it yourself is cheaper, but so would it be on an M6. Shop for shop or part for part, an M6 oil change is marginally more than an M340 at best.
