Sesame seed candy is my absolute favorite candy. They do not have an Asian market here, but when I go to omaha there is a rather large one. I find those first. Thank you for sharing your talent. Its appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Hi Maangchi! We are so glad my family discovered your channel! =) My wife and my daughter saw this video today and decided to make a batch of this delicious sesame seed candy. They used honey and brown sugar, but the outcome is still wonderful--- sweet, nutty, and crisp--- it's so hard to eat just one piece! Too bad we do not have freeze-dried berries since these are not readily available in Philippine grocery stores; the tangy, chewy, fruity taste must be a wonderful contrast to the crisp sweet sesame seeds and peanuts. Anyway, we love your recipes and your presentation; now we are constantly craving for Korean food. More power to you and we are looking forward to more delicious recipes! Cheers!

We call this as Ellu Barfi for the sesame seed version and Chikki, verkadalai barfi for the peanut. Version. We use jaggery instead of sugar to make the syrup. Smells so good and taste so delicious.

I made this today and I'm eating one now! So delicious! I added some lemon zest and used roasted almond slivers instead of peanuts and left off the freeze dried raspberries (since I didn't have any). I think I cooked the sugar syrup just a little too long, though. :-) My plan: take the majority to a board game night tomorrow and share them because these are just a bit too addictive to be sitting around at home. Thanks for the easy recipe, this may get added to my list of possible Christmas edible foodstuffs for various friends.

Maangchi, I LOVE your postings and have learned so much. I think I will make this for Christmas candy. Very pretty. I have a tip for you. When you put any type of syrup (honey etc) in a measuring cup, put water in it first then empty out the water.... pour the syrup (honey) in the cup coated with water and it pours out perfectly leaving nothing behind.

I am Korean and I am always looking for wonderful Korean recipes to incorporate into my life. I really value my culture, and I want to make sure that it is a huge part of my life throughout my entire life, even though I live in the U.S. Korean food is a wonderful way to do that, in my opinion! I hope to make Korean food for my future children, but for now, I am making it for my mother who is from Korea and for my friends- who love it by the way! You're videos are amazing, and easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing your meals and your time with us! I hope you never stop. :)
