Remember that your hair has 3 phases: Growing, Stagnant, Shedding, and depending on genetics, health, and other factors certain ppl will have a longer growth phase, or stagnant phase. When your hair goes thru its phase where it doesn't grow then it will start to shed and after the shedding phase your hair will go back to its growing phase.

Hey! 🌸 Regarding your length check, you clearly had new growth, so I’m wondering if it was the mini twists. How long did you have the twists in before you put back in your plaits?
@SharatiaBanks3 ай бұрын
@A_Wilson oooooooh! THE TWISTS!!!! I had them in for about 2-3 weeks. You think that had an imapct as well?
@A_Wilson3 ай бұрын
Possibly! I have fine strands as well and although I like the look of twists, handling them causes way more breakage than plaits. I’ve been in plaits all year but decided I’d give twists a go for about a month and a half….girl, I think those set me back a bit. Some people can do well with them, but not me! 😅 I ran to put my plaits back in! I have length goals and twists cannot get me there as fast as plaits can! 😂💕
@SharatiaBanks3 ай бұрын
@@A_Wilson indeed! Twists are easier and faster to do and they look better cause of the fullness, but babyyy I had a time taking them down last month. Lol the Fenty deep conditioner made it easier but I don’t think it was worth it. And I knew better I but I wanted twists for my vacation 🤦🏾♀️ shout to the plaits doing us good ✊🏾 did you have to cut some at all? Or did you do a trim?
@A_Wilson3 ай бұрын
Exactly! I don’t think they’re worth it either. I didn’t have to trim with scissors. I think the handling of them, trying to keep them stretched and trying to keep them from tangling, that ended up being the “trim” through breakage, if that makes sense. Our ends are just so fragile. That’s why I’m wondering if that had something to do with your length check. It didn’t show you gained a 1/2 inch but you clearly had new growth, so maybe it just broke off.
@zooweellama3 ай бұрын
I also just wanna add that those watching be careful about which vitamins/minerals you are supplementing, for example iron. It’s been proven that high iron levels can actually mimic symptoms associated with low iron (being tired is one of them). And like low iron is bad, so is having too much. The ONLY sure way to know what you need is to get your blood levels checked. As beneficial as it can be to take multivitamins, it can do the opposite of what you want if your body doesn’t need something. If the vitamins are working it means your body was deficient in something which is good to fix that but of course the healthier alternative through diet.
