This video might seem a little different, but it's actually kind of the same. We have been posting videos like this on our second, experimental channel and getting a great response. We decided it's less confusing to post it all here, so you get 1 to 2 videos every week. The second channel will again be used for its original purpose: Experimenting.

Corby Chapman my ears were ringing and hurt the day after. I was lucky mine exploded away from me unlike Seth
@brendanriel8884 жыл бұрын
how do you avoid this mistake?
@natedawgg774 жыл бұрын
Brendan Riel when I made the mistake, i didn’t have the valve core in. That means my gauge when filling wasn’t reading the exact pressure in the tire, i just kept filling waiting for the little pops. After the explosion and remounting the tire, I put in the valve core and did incremental inflations so I could carefully watch the pressure. On MTB tires you generally never want to go over 40 psi. If the tire isn’t seating and you are nearing 40psi, stop inflating. You will need to pull the valve core, unseat the tire completely (just push it to the middle of the rim) and get a spray bottle of soapy water. Spray down the bead of the tire with soapy water all the way around, re-install the valve core and try re-inflating the tire again. The soapy water “should” let the tire bead move into place more easily.
@corby7954 жыл бұрын
Yeah what Nathan said is bang on, aswell as potentially injuring yourself you can end up ruining the bead of your tyre and potentially cracking the seam of your wheel like I did Expensive mistake 😅

i love this not because of the bikes but because of the parts he uses. He's the only youtuber to find that not uses the high end brands every time he builds a bike.

Fun video. The explosion reminded me of one I suffered when I was a teenager, filling the wheel of my road bike with air after a repair. There was an explosion and it tore the rim in half. I’m still nervous 30 years later filling my tires!

I’ve heard many different opinions on how to set up the oval chainring but the most popular is the opposite of how you mounted it in the video. It is supposed to get easier on the down pedal and harder in between. This provides better traction, a more even pedal stroke, and faster acceleration. I use this and it works really well for me.

My first real mountain bike was a 1995 Schwinn Homegrown hardtail. I literally replaced every single part including the frame. After degreasing the freehub on my new wheel, I replaced it with the original freehub off the factory wheel. After that, the freehub became the only original piece on the bike. I eventually replaced the 2nd frame with a ProFlex 855 and, after realizing I couldn't get replacement bushings, put all my good stuff on my Specialized Hardrock steel frame with rigid fork. That was a pretty cool bike!
