Exciting end of the year! Just in these days is leaking the news of the reception of a radio signal that seems to come from the same direction in which Proxima Centauri is located. A star too faint to be seen by the Earth with the naked eye, but which has a unique feature: it is in fact the closest star to our solar system, just 4.2 light years away.
The signal has such characteristics as to prevent it from being dismissed a priori as a terrestrial interference, raising the vague possibility that it is a transmission that may come from some form of technologically advanced extraterrestrial intelligence. Seti detected this strange signal.

Picking up that strange radio emission were some of the astronomers involved in the Breakthrough Listen Project, promoted in 2015 by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner to detect forms of intelligence in the cosmos. An ambitious program, with a budget of $ 100 million to be spent in ten years, a kind of "SETI Renaissance" that sees in the front row the most prestigious names in research and the main Observatories of the world. A goal to be achieved by funding the purchase of "observation time" on radio telescopes around the world and checking one by one at least one million stars in our nearby universe.
And it was thanks to this "Joint venture" between capital and advanced technology that on April 29, 2019, the Parkes radio telescope, located in Australia's New South Wales, was pointed at the star Proxima Centauri. Not so much in search of aliens, but to study the giant flashes of light that Red Dwarf stars like Proxima frequently emit.
The second feature, really very suggestive, is that the signal has a slight Doppler effect, compatible with transmission from a moving planet. And as we know, Proxima Centauri has a planetary system consisting of a gas giant and a rocky body, "Proxima b", a little bit bigger than the Earth...
But seriously Could the signal come from that planet? Could it be?

Luckily it only takes about 50 months for a radio signal to travel between Earth and Proxima- so the delay between any future communications would only be mildly annoying. It's wild, 4.5 light-years isn't far at all in cosmic terms; we could feasably establish two-way data transmissions with our current technology... Proxima B will be contributing to TikTok before you know it..

Science doesn't even know how homo sapiens came to be. Evolution is an assumption. Miller-urey failed and no scientist knows how the first single celled organisms became the first fish, without an egg or a womb. Random genetic mutation? The last time a homo sapien randomly genetically evolved he turned into the elephant man. Besides, complex life began 1.5 billion years ago, meaning 3 billion base pairs dna in 1.5 billion years, meaning 2 base pairs per year, randomly genetically, to make us? i don't think so. It is easier to explain life using angels and demons, and intelligent design.

@Emviel
@Emviel 3 жыл бұрын
@@wyqtor You completely missed his point. What he's saying is maybe our knowledge is barely scratching the surface so we shouldn't assume everything based on our knowledge. It's not unrealistic to say that there are lots of things in the universe that we still don't understand and perhaps our knowledge is miniscule in the grand scheme of things. After all that's what "alien" means. Something foreign and unfamiliar. It wouldn't be called alien if it's something we know of, understand??

Professor David Kipping talked about this recently in his YT channel 'cool worlds'. The signal was at 982.002 mhz. This video said we don't use that signal, but as Prof. Kipping mentioned we do sometimes use that frequency for telecommunication satellites. But the signal did come from a weird spot, it would have to have a very strange, ellipse orbit. It almost certainly was artificial, since nothing known in nature can possibly produce signals that narrow. But that actually is a frequency used by some telecom satellites, despite what this video says. I want it to be aliens too. But I'm not gonna deceive people to convince them it is.
@chrisdraughn5941
@chrisdraughn5941 3 жыл бұрын
Molniya III Russian military satellites use that frequency range, and the tone with no modulation makes sense because their elliptical orbit each Molniya III constellation only is activity used for six hours before handing off to the next constellation. This also accounts for the Doppler shift.

But that's with our technology, who knows what tech they have. Maybe they could get a very faint signal and have the ability to amplify it. Getting "The three stooges" and "I love Lucy" ..lol. Why do we always assume life has to be like us (on Earth)? Just because we need water, oxygen, etc, doesn't mean another civilization does too. They could have adapted to or just living on completely different elements than we've ever known.
@zazethe6553
@zazethe6553 3 жыл бұрын
You are right and wrong at the same time. Chemically speaking water is a unique molecule in the amount of processes it facilitates. We know all the elements that exist in the universe, and know much of the chemistry possible with all of them. Complex life resuires thousands of chemical reactions to exist. It's not impossible to do chemistry without water, but severely limits what is possible. So it's just a million times more likely for water to be involved in alien biology. Which is why water is searched for first, but life based on other chemistry is still possible, it's not fully excluded.

There is a triangle shape craft that my neighbor sees from her house In the woods every day at the same time around 9:30pm. Today for New Years we had fireworks and sure enough everyone one outside witnessed the craft, triangle shape and what looked like red thrusters underneath it made no noise either. I’m going to record it at her house since I can’t see it from where I live because of the tall trees. Got goosebumps from watching it, it glides so smoothly and the red thrusters give off a pretty red glow.

For us, is HUGE, for them, probably a tiny ship. He managed to see beings through the "windows" (even at distance). It emited a lot colors in light spectrum, like a rainbow. Absolutely silent (no noise). He told me few months before he passed away. He was a very serious person, and never was the type into making lies. I do believe him.
