I hope we can see more Astral Chain! The music is probably my favorite out of the platinum games, but I have a bias towards prog metal/rock so it really appeals to me. That with a cyberpunkish kind of world is so cool. I hope to god we get an Astral Chain 2. Also you love Within The Ruins too?? I fuckin love that band! Ataxia was the first song to get me into them, and I was so stoked when years later they did Ataxia II and just more new music. Roads was the second instrumental song that got me hooked. Totally second the recommendation if you like this style of music that's instrumental and kinda metal/prog or whatever you'd call it.

Platinum are basically dead at this point. They had like 3 or 4 massive flops in a row, including Bayonetta 3. And they're not a giant mega publisher like Ubisoft or EA so they can't afford to screw up and just move on. So...yeah. Very unlikely sadly.

Heck yeah more astral chain, genuinely favorite platinum game and favorite switch game. The combat is extremely wild in the later game when you have everything upgraded and unlocked and combos can look insane. It left off on a good ending, but at the same was very open so I'm really hoping we could see a 2nd game in the future...especially since the Bayo 3 trailer actually opened with the mascot character for astral chain. Also yes the OST has some points that sound very much like nier. Definitely a game I recommend to anyone who can play it.

This was my first Platinum game and I was blown away. This isn't even my favourite genre but by god was it enjoyable from start to finish. Plot, gameplay, music, humour. A treat.

Astral chain is a great somewhat underrated platinum game, the combat can require a bit of getting used to but someone that has played Nier Automata and or MGRR should be able to figure it out. It is tied with Wonderful 101 for my favorite music in platinum games.

If you didn't have to move two different characters by using two different sticks and following their movements all the time, it would be a lot easier. But it's kind of THE trick the game pulls off and pulls off exceptionally well. You just have to rewire your brain a little to make it work.

Absolutely stellar game with a very fun story. The biggest correction I can make is you saying it seems like the kind of gameplay you can just turn your brain off for, as it's quite the opposite! Controlling two characters at once and avoiding enemy attacks, while comboing between your character and the Legions requires some HEFTY brain power during some of the later fights in the game.

Praying for a a reaction to dark hero from astral chain. There are two versions, one with male vocals and one with female vocals. They play in game depending on the gender chosen for the player. The female version is the best version imo

Within the Ruins, nice! I still listen to Tractor Pull to this day. Astral Chain's a sick game that could do with a sequel and speaking of, I recommend the HQ theme from it called "Task Force Neuron". Final boss theme also slaps.

It’s a crime that people who love Nier and Platinum Games in general never gave Astral Chain a chance.😭 The graphics is great, the combat is mad fun and the music is an absolute banger, too! I hope it gets a sequel as a launch title for the Switch 2 or something, that should boost the awareness and urge more people to try it out (and a backward compatibility woth the first game would also help a ton!).

FINALLY. Astral Chain's soundtrack is INSANE, yet all I ever see people react to are the anime-esque opening and ending songs lol There's SO much more good stuff to be had here. This is my favorite action game of all time. I really recommend you check this one out if you're looking for Switch games to play like you said. I 100%'d it and I still want to play more. lol EDIT: Also, please check out Jena - Rebellion and Salvation at some point.

I saw a copy of this game for the Switch a while back one day while I was at Gamestop. Knew nothing about it. Didn't look anything up for it. It was on sale for like 17 bucks or something and I figured why not. I still don't regret my purchase.

Astral Chain as a whole is just amazing. I’ve only seen clips of gameplay, but I have the game downloaded and have listened to at least 10 hours of this soundtrack. If there was any game id recommend checking out more of, it would be Astral Chain.

I recommend you play Astral Chain bc is a "short" game full of things you gonna like, the "short" part is bc is like 20 hours playthrough... that's short bc each Xenoblade is gonna be like basegame 80h + 20h from each DLC hahahaha

I'd say... Choose the girl. Change to platinum standard difficulty immediately after the first chapter. Complete all the training sessions. And just give the game about two hours to really show you the main mechanics. The combo system is deeper than you may think so the help menu can help you. Also the game rewards you for exploring, no need to rush most of the times.

The "worst" part is getting used to controlling two characters at the same time and letting that click. But once it does, it's amazing.

One might be inclined to think that makes the couch co-op option a very natural fit for it, but it just wound up being poorly implemented. I'd say it still has it's moments during gameplay when you and your partner both get the hang of your roles in battle, but it also bizarrely locks you out of the main menu the whole time co-op is active, and I just can't get over that.

I can recommend Astral Chain, when you have played DMC. The combat is easy to get into, offers a lot of customization andd feels really rewarding.

The combat is so good in this game, I kinda forgot about it. Basically every single button at once has you doing something. I only wish it was on something other than switch so it could run better, but alas it was Nintendo publishing it or nothing.

I think most of the critique for the game was that the story for cliché and predictable, I also seen some dislike for some of the English voice acting. Both story and English VA are certainly good enough for the combat, visuals and music etc. to carry you through and enjoy the game if it's you're type of game. Glad you enjoyed both songs, there's a lot more variety to the soundtrack and they all sound great! Also the game does what FF7 Remake/Rebirth does when changing from the area's standard music into the battle music, it's very seamless/dynamic 😎

I like Astral Chain. Played it thoroughly and long. The combat and graphics and music are all top notch. I just don‘t like the Story. It‘s way too cookie cutter anime 1-o-1. Like 3 Chapters from a Xenoblade game are more complicated then the whole of Astral Chain. It‘s too bad cause it had a good premise and designs, but the story just let me down.
