To anyone that says you don't need a bandsaw. I haven't got one and i cant count the amount of times i wish i had. And after watching your purchase video i've decided i'm going to finally bite the bullet and get one. Probably the same one that you bought. Now i just gotta make room for it in my garage. Cheers for posting these.

Its amazing how much I've used it already for odd little tasks like making up some quick brackets yesterday for the pipework. Also the quietest and lowest dust cutting tool I have I think.

I felt for you off loading that!! My phone rang this afternoon. 'Can't find you, package to deliver.' It was raining quite hard. A lorry turns up out of the blue and with it .... the bandsaw. My wife was out in the car and I had planned on getting my son over giving me a hand. It was raining hard but but fortunately covered in plastic sheeting. I just wish delivery companies would give you some warning!! With the aid of the tractor got it loaded onto the fore-loader and took it down to the workshop. Careful juggling of fore-loader and it was in through the door. Unboxed it and now reading the manual having enjoyed your video.

Nice Job. Best thing to do when building something like this is to start by putting a big scratch on one of the panels. That way you lose the fear of damaging it and you can get on much faster.

Really tempting when I see you plank the log so easily, a hundred ideas flood in - however my danger would be its another horizontal surface to put things down on rather than put away......

I did it also by myself and I had the same problem getting the package out of my car ;) So like you, I unpacked right there :) Have been using it for almost a year now.

Excellent machiene. I have a smaller model which I cant do without. Now, get some decent blades from Tuff saws - best value for money and excellent blades. Really makes a difference.

Thanks for showing that. I've never really had anything to do with bandsaws but seeing that thin cut you made I can see the benefit of having one. Lots of potential projects are coming I'm sure. I'm on the look out for one now lol.

Expensive but just the ticket, I only wish I had the money, the room, and the justification for having one. So much better than a table saw for 95% of tasks. Look forward to seeing great results.

I can honestly say that I can't see my table saw used much anymore, between this and a track saw I can do most of what I need.

Lovely job. Slicing logs is one thing I like to do but my little bandsaw is so slow on anything over about 40mm. Yours gives you lots of options and especially for when you get a lathe which I assume is on your wish list for the future. I might have to consider this machine. Andy UK

Enjoyed that and the previous bandsaw video. Was wondering how you feel about the saw after a couple of years. Are you still happy with the choice you made? have you ended up using it as much as you thought you would? Trying to choose between this, an axminster equivalent or the more expensive Laguna 14/12.

I am this close to getting one myself! Why's the bar holding the fence so long (wide?) though? It sticks out quite a bit, certainly when comparing it to the bar at the BS350 (saw your other video too)

Hi im thinking of getting a sabre bandsaw and am trying to decide between the 350and the 450 I'm leaning towards the 450 because of the wider blades up 35mm but surprised that it is only single speed Any input appreciated Regards Liam

Now that you have a cast iron table to maintain I would suggest a rag rolled up tightly and put into an old lid from a can of spray paint. Lets you put oil in the lid and then you just hold the lid and rub it all over the table. Also means you dont end up with excessive oil on the table(not my idea, seen it somewhere else on youtube just cant remember where)

Think it may have been me that made that dig re the bandsaw! But my question is this - could you not simply buy a bowsaw for £10 and saw these curved braces out??? I mean curved braces existed many many years befire bandsaws, how did these guys do it??? I do get it with the Laburnum though, plus I know a bandsaw is much safer for width splitting than a table saw. I am looking forward to seeing these curved braces though :).

Just bought a sabre450 for my workshop. What a disappointment. Didn’t work on delivery. An electrician found it had been wired incorrectly inside. Very poor quality control for what is suppose to be the top of their range machine. Wouldn’t buy record power ever again.
