Is it more important to maintain a 50mm cavity as opposed to being plumb on those timber frames?

Gotta step the brick out in the first course to make it plumb and keep the cavity

Ideally you plumb down from the top to check what you have

It's a pain to step it back behind the soffit on the cut ups if you catch it to late

Bt do timber frame clamps I have a set very quick to set up but a bit expensive

Just knock some 90's together out of some old slate battern & screw to frame & clamp to profile
