We downsized 18 months ago, and We are still unpacking and rearranging stuff due to a cancer diagnosis, surgery, chemo, and more surgery. Now, one year cancer free, life is good, even in these crazy times because our Father is still in charge and watching over us. That is the most comforting feeling to know I don’t do anything on my own. Glad you are getting settled in before the kids return to school. Blessings for a great school year.

When we moved to a smaller place, I took 4 zippered notebooks, bought cd covers from Wal-Mart that came 4 to a page & put all our dvds in & recycled the covers. I labeled each notebook dvds, kids dvds & Christmas dvds. The only ones I didn't put in the books were sets like Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings & our Christian, Sight & Sound theater ones. We saved SO MUCH space & it easy peasy to flip through the pages. They're all stored in a 12 x 12 cloth storage cube. Thought might a a good idea for your craft, games, dvd closet.

I don't think most people realise how debilitating anxiety can be. My 26 year old daughter suffers from chronic anxiety and I've just had to give up my job to care for her full time. I hate feeling so powerless to help. You should be very proud of yourself for pushing through and setting such a good example. And I also wanted to say that I've adopted your saying of progress over perfection and it's really helped me to stop being so hard on myself if I don't meet my daily goals, so thank you. Xx
@moonmade10964 жыл бұрын
Thank you for bringing us along on this journey with you, Kimmy! Ever since you talked about "progress, not perfection" a few years ago, I have lived by it, and it has saved my sanity! Sending love to you and yours! Also, your home is looking wonderful! Amazing job!

It's so great when you finally get areas completed & organized. Another idea for the potatoes that we do is add the eggs scrambled into the potato skillet & cook it with the potatoes (once they're soft), add cheese & serve. So good.

The most annoying thing about moving is, when you don’t realise how much stuff you have until you move and when you do move into your new home, you spend several hours unpacking for one room and getting things right. When you organise things the way you want in that room you do a little victory celebration because you think it’s all over until you turn around and see several boxes that needs to be unpacked for the rest of the house. This is when you say oh for goodness sake and your mood changes.
@mildredbosque71474 жыл бұрын
@Onion Face you are my kind of people..Lol. I must totally organize the basics first then move on to the least important. Must see organization on some areas and get it out of the way so my mood doesn't take my energy and motivation away cause once I get a mess going to organize if I see to much mess I don't finish anything.

N Glass umm....wow. I’m sorry that it was so offensive to you but I’m pretty sure she said it flat out in the first video about it. I was asking for advice. Not judging and not caring. I think it’s a true blessing to be able to save money for your future goals. I had a childhood that meant asking for help meant admitting defeat so I have a very tough time accepting any type of kindness. A box of muffins when we moved to a new neighborhood sent me into a tailspin bc I felt like I should cook something for her immediately to “repay”. I honestly was looking for advice for how to accept with gratitude without ruining the act of kindness. I’m sorry to Kim if my intentions were unclear.
@brynb13254 жыл бұрын
N Glass I just reread what I wrote and and can how if it is read without being in my head and the way I was asking...it can’t seem judgmental when I said “how do you accept without guilt?” 100% if you read it like I meant it...as a true question without anyyyyyyy malice or judgement behind it! Seeking advice. Not to shade or make a point or anything. I will delete the comment bc I would never want anyone to think those were my intentions

If I may offer a suggestion for DVD’s, I took all of mine out of their covers, and bought paper envelopes for cd/dvds, and put them in a CD box, that you can buy on Amazon. I just marked the name of the movies, and maybe a couple of actors or what type of movie they were on the envelopes. Takes up minimal space in the closet and is easy to take out to look for a movie!
