I have a Sky HD+ box can I upgrade to a Sky Q 2TB box and just plug it in, or do I need a new LNB fitted? I have twin LNB cables already.

A new wideband LNB will need to be installed on your dish, the existing cables can/will be used.

No, assuming that everything is working as it should, you don’t need a new satellite dish or cables. However, access to your dish is needed so we can update your LNB (a piece of equipment on the arm of your dish).

Hello, I’d like to ask something, why when my Sky is turned on in the middle of the night does my sky box randomly go on the blue screen and say, “When the screen goes blank, press home to get started.?

That could be related to a software update or your box going into sleep mode (around 2:45 am). This link will help you change your standby settings www.sky.com/help/articles/using-the-standby-settings

Does it work with the internet only? Say the satellite cable doesn’t reach the room where I am. Can I operate it with the internet only?

No, but only your main Sky Q box will need to be connected to a satellite dish. We’ll need to send someone to your home and update some equipment on your dish, they can also re-cable if required. the setup is simple, i already have sky hd with the twin cable, so why am i being forced to have an engineer visit to set the sky q box up, its all wired the same way

You are right, the cables are the same however they’ll need to install a wideband LNB on your satellite dish.

the box is much better but the Sky Q UI is a step backward what were sky thinking, seems to me its designed to increase advert viewing. A linear search wheel over a grid? Obviously slower, tv guide has also lost 25% viewing area with 50% screen for the actual shows... our engineer warned us its impossible to delete recordings too once they build up as there is no delete all or delete viewed, delete series option anymore. If sky update the UI in the future we will be more happy its horrible compared to the old Sky HD User Interface..
