To the guy with the IT job, My story is nearly identical. I work full time as the VP of Sales for a national transportation company fully remote. I started selling on TCGPlayer about 3 years ago while I was still in office 100% of the time and then I went to remote once we were scaling into our store. We opened our store in November and are looking to scale up again. Its tough and comes with TONS of sacrifice and hard work but its possible. Thanks for the vid Rob!

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! I just got to level 4 on TCGplayer recently after finding your channel about a year ago and deciding to go for it. I only get maybe a dozen orders a month right now but I’ve finally found my groove for processing the bulk!

Hi, thanks for your honest content. I have a question about how to track sales between different platforms. For example: if I want to sell oil slick lands and list them on tcgplayer and eBay at the same time. How to adjust inventory on tcgplayer if sales go through eBay and vice versa? And I'm curious about CardKingdom because prices on this market usually higher than tcgplayer.

Thanks again for a great video I'm loving these Q&A videos. In a previous video you mentioned sifting collections and then just sending them all to TCG Player for the SYP program, but your floor was something like $0.15 is it difficult to get these shipments approved with their card value guidelines? I think they want the cards to average something like $1.50 each with 50% of the cards hitting that threshold. I usually tailor my shipments to get close to that but I've never tried to just send anything on their list, does that work or do you fill in the shipment with more valuable cards on top of that? Also I'd love to learn more about your inventory system how do you organize your cards? Specifically how do you keep your inventory organized with many thousands of cards listed always needing to pull cards out to fulfill orders and add cards into your inventory as you list new cards to sell?

Thank you for responding to my question. You're absolutely right about how I'll have to create more content if I buy more product, it's actually something I never put too much thought into because I was blinding by the buying/selling portion of my plan. Right now I'm sitting on 16 booster boxes because I need to find time to make videos.

It sounds like some of the inventory you get comes from buying people's collections. What is your pricing strategy for picking those up? Also, as a small (from home) seller, is picking up collections the best bet? Can you sell make money cracking sealed for singles? If so, what's a good strategy there? Where should I be sourcing my sealed product from, and how much should I be buying (at least a case? more?)? Thanks!

What size PWE do you use? I use windowed #10, but I have to tape the TCG invoice down in the envelope because if it slides, you can’t see like half of the address it’s being sent to. Thanks!

Hey Rob! I was hoping you could talk about your TCGPlayer store consolidation. You said you were going down from your 3 stores to 1, from my research you are ditching your SYP Store and your non-direct store. Any and all details would be much appreciated. Been watching for over a year now and look forward to every video! Take care.

Hey Rob, thanks for the vids man love what you're doing. I'm from over the bridge in NYC. I have been selling on tcgplayer and a bit on ebay for a few months now. We just hit $800 in revenue for December which was big for us. We are arbitraging from ebay/tcgplayer and finally making some profitable sales. Every sealed product we've bought we lost money on, other than some lucky LotR bundles we got for cheap. Would you recommend holding off on sealed until we have an actual store? That is many years away, but not sure what our path forward should be. Should we just expect to lose money on new sets unless we open them and get lucky? Sealed at patreon prices has just not been worthwhile

Wish tcgplayer had the pwe option as ebay. Do you sell with tracking only? I try to keep shipping low but it's hard to do that with no tracking. I might change my shipping to have tracking

Hey Rob. I’m new to selling on TCGP this year and racked up hundreds of sales. It’s been awesome so far. I wanted to ask you how do you get an export with itemized breakdown of each sale with item name, total revenue and net revenue? Do you track it manually? I looked in the seller dashboard and don’t see an option for this anywhere. Thanks in advance.

How important is being a current player to selling MtG cards well? I was a super casual player in the 90s and only played sporadically with friends in the years since. Bought a lot of collections back then and now working on selling everything. I'm willing to do the work of individually selling cards rather than bulking them to a store and enjoy the process so far and am looking to expand into buying more collections agains. Is not being versed on current rules or trends going to be a huge hindrance? How about when selling cards that I never played but ended up with such as Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh?

So I started back in August and had some pretty good sales at the beginning and was selling some expensive cards. Now it’s slowed down and I’m only selling one or two cards worth a few cents every other day and I’m losing money on the TCGplayer fees alone. What can I do differently so I’m not losing money? Should I change the base price of all my bulk singles to 25 cents or charge more than 99cents for shipping? I’m still currently sorting and adding to my inventory with only 700 cards listed because I have a full time job and do this with what little time I have left in the day/week. I have close to 300 cards sold so far and have a 100% rating as well. I sell out of my house and I’m not looking to make it big either. I do this as a hobby and make a little extra money on the side. Is there anything I could or should do differently? Any advice?

Maybe someone from the comments can answer me. Why select tcgplayer median prices instead of market price?
@JCLA5 Жыл бұрын
Median price is based on what sellers are listing items for, whereas market price is based on an average of actual sales which is more accurate to what people are willing to pay. As for why he would base his offers on median over market, I'm not too sure. If I had to guess, it likely has to do with the delay that median price adjusts and when a card spikes the median price will remain at the lower price vs the market price shifting up more quickly? Basically seems he's looking at it from the seller perspective only and a range it could be listed for. As he's mentioned before he's not really worried about chasing the low because the sales will come. 🤷♂️ Total guess, could be way off base. Couple side notes, the median price doesn't reflect the quantity of items per listing. So when averaging the price, the seller with 100x copies is a single data point, same as the seller with 1x copy. So doesn't really take into account how that price will shift down over time when that much of a single product gets listed. And median price is typically higher than market, so he offers a lower % off median. We'd have to use examples to see which is better for whom, buyer vs seller.

I remember you saying in an earlier video that you offload foils ASAP as you believe they're a toxic asset. Is this because of their tendency to become damaged / cloud easier or is it simply eliminating a 'feels bad' scenario from people receiving curled cards?
@andrewlipkin712711 ай бұрын
You are always one preview day away from your foil version no longer being the fanciest version and losing 50% of its value
