wow,how you managed to make sense of the burda pattern is beyond me.Do they do markings for different sizes ? I ,absolutely love the dress,the neckline is stunning.I don't like low necklines but I agree with you this suits the dress and it doesn't look too low.It ,somehow,fits and curves over the bust. This dress deserves a long open double staircase to walk down so you can ,"enter" the room.

Yes, each size has its own dashed/dotted/etc line to follow. Thank you so much - yes I totally need to find a staircase like that (and make sure my cat isn't chasing the ties lol)!

Fabulous dress! Happy 40th birthday! 🎉 I love Burda’s construction techniques, though I have only done simpler patterns. You did an amazing job!!! Once you sew a lot of Burda, the language choice becomes second nature.😆

I used to sew almost exclusively with Burda magazine patterns but I haven’t used one for a long time! I agree that the tracing is a project in itself haha. I think I might struggle with the grids on your paper but I did always draw the grain line in first!

Both dress and fabric are incredible! I've already looked and that edition is sadly not available on eBay. Could still buy the fabric though. I currently have a one track mind when it comes to seeing patterns and thought that could easily work as maternity dress. Well done for your hard work, and thank you for sharing!

Great shame they didn't have it available as a Copy shop pattern though. Lots of printing and sticking for me this weekend! Would you be able to email me a scan of the instructions? I did not take German and google translate could be a little interesting! I am new to this, so tell me how best to make this work. I have kept hearing that the sewing community online was incredibly helpful and kind, and now I have proof of it. Thank you!

Hi Ruth! I'm based in Bangor. My shop is just online at the moment...but who knows, maybe one day it will be bricks and mortar :)
