Nasty variety, too. American and / or German cockroaches. Australian cockroaches don't have wings and are basically harmless, but if they've got wings, you've got problems.

Still remember the first time I heard that , was helping our plumber out removing some old incorrectly pitched waste lines when I reacted to the smell. He smiled and looked me in the eyes and uttered the infamous line and I could not stop laughing.

A while back in winter in Scotland the pipes froze, and we were afraid the drains would freeze too, and I realised that while you can live without electricity fairly easily, and without plumbed water with some difficulty, if your drains don't work you're completely screwed.

I reckon you're already wearing the best gloves to be honest Bruce, you just can't beat a pair of Marigolds for comfort! (Brand name in the UK) You do have less feeling than latex/vinyl gloves but they're a lot harder to break which is much better for the environment; Olly might as well just buy his and then bin em cos they break so quickly!
