StyleArc patterns are a little short on directions but the finished product is lovely. I love their styles and you have chosen some of my favorites. One thing I really like about StyleArc is that their sizing is spot on. By the way I really like the fabric of the dress you are wearing. A favorite palette of mine!

Yes, I was surprised with the first pattern I tried. Luckily I don’t need much instruction but it’s not great for those just starting out. I’m looking forward to sharing this capsule and some sew-a-longs, as I do love the fit of the ones I’ve made so far. Thank you!

Happy National Sewing Month - The capsule wardrobe Idea is a good one -I usually look at what I have in my closet and try to add pieces that are missing or need replacing. I generally do not buy Indie patterns -don't like to print and piece them together. Big 4 's are so easily available that I don't need any additional company patterns. I do have Surefit designs package that I used for pants fitting. 🙂

Yes, we have so many options. I know some people that started sewing with indie patterns and only sew with those. I am having fun dabbling in and I like style arc as there is no printing-these are all paper patterns and such a nice fit with the few I have tried so far. We are lucky to have so many options!

Hi Brenda! I ended up finding the new dress pattern I wanted. And slipped in a skirt in the order. Can’t remember the name though. I’ll share in part 2. I LOVE your fabrics. A word of warning, I also bought 4 colors in the Heathered sweater knit fabric. After prewashing, they all pilled badly. I sewed them anyway, they feel good against my skin, so I will wear them. And I have no idea how to stop the pilling. And thank you for the pattern choices. I like Style Arc patterns too. And now I'll pick up a few more.

Love the patterns you are using. I've made the como top and for me it works as a top but I've also worn it as a vest over a long sleeve tee. It's a beautifully cut top. Those velvets are stunning and so are your heather knit selections. I almost started to go find them but I realllllly don't need to add to my collection. You have inspired me to think more about wardrobe planning. That’s a great plan. There are many nice free sewing patterns online-great when you need to keep your budget low. I share a video a couple months ago where I sewed 3 items with free patterns snd they are honestly three of my favorite items. I’ve share a couple other videos where I sewed with free patterns. Hi Gina! Thanks for watching. Do you mean your knit fabrics shag when you are sewing them? If so, then check your needle. You should be using a needle for knit fabrics not for woven fabrics. The tip of the needle is different and should prevent snagging-which happens when the needle head catches your knit threads. Are you using a universal needle or the stretch knit needle?

Happy National Sewing Month. All of the fabrare amazing. I am skeptical of ordering fabrics on line. I have not sewn any fabrics other than Butterick, Mccalls and Simplicity.

Yes, it can be tricky when you first start ordering online. Find some places that send swatches. Or just order a 1/2 yard to a yard to see how the company represents the fabrics. I’m pretty new to style arc-sewed with them for the first time in 2021 I believe. I really like the ones I’ve sewn so far.

Yes, my blazers and dressy clothes aren’t get a ton of wear these days. But I’m living sewing up clothes that are suitable for my current daily lifestyle. I was pleasantly surprised with the velvets. My camera was not showcasing them to their full beauty! Good luck in the drawing Sammee!
