Thanks for making this, I’m in the middle of trying to sew this. It looks like you sewing collar stand differently than the pattern. I tried to do it the way the pattern says but can’t get the collar to sew to without tucks. Do you know which way to sew the collar stand to the collar. I tried searching but wasn’t sure what the collar type was called.

Thanks for watching! I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. You can sew it the way I did. Honestly though,the seam allowance is the problem. It’s just too much and it makes maneuvering it a lot harder. You can trim down your seam allowance to 1/4” and it’ll be easier. It’s a variation of a collar and stand.

Thanks for replying. It looks like you sewed the collar stand upside down compared the instructions. But when following the instructions I couldn’t get the collar with stand to attach to the body correctly.

I often don’t follow the instructions. It doesn’t mean they’re wrong. I just prefer sewing it a different way.

Loved the short-cut 'taco' method! But have issue with the fact that you sewed the collar stand in totally wrong. You used the wrong edge of the collar stand piece when sewing it to the collar. The drill holes help line it up perfectly. It lays nice and smooth and you don't have those little 'tabs' sticking out from the seam allowance. Surprised this wasn't caught or mentioned in the video or subsequent follow-up.

Let’s see, I’m pretty sure it was fine…? Sorry I can’t remember but everything was sewn on camera. I don’t remember any big mistakes happening. But maybe I caught it by Part 2. And addressed it there. This shirt came out amazing. I never hide anything if that’s what you mean.
