How do you adjust a neck or arm size? For example, the discoverer tee is a really great pattern I like a lot, but the neck is higher than I really like. How would you adjust the neck line to make it an inch lower and then the band? Where do you measure the neck opening? 1/4 inch from the edge to get the initial measurement or the edge?

You can re-draw the neckline and then remeasure the band so you have the length that fits! I like to make these changes on the pattern because fabric can stretch :) Here's our video on measuring your own bands! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHO2ZGytfdd9mas

I take my bust and waist measurements to use to grade my bodices. I’m a small bust and a large waist. I grade by drawing a line from the small bust, starting to angle out in an even grade after the bust line, and end at a large by the time I reach the waist line. Then I cut the bodice this way.

Mark the top of the waistband at your waist size, and then Mark the bottom of the waistband in the *middle* of your waist and hip size. That's because the bottom of the waistband isn't all the way at your hips. Hope that helps!
