Love the shape of these placemats. I've made them up following your easy to follow directions. Each day I discover a new way to place them on the table as a centre piece. I'll happily make them up again.

Thank you. I love my Annie's Fat Quarters. This is one of my favorite fabrics. Annie's is the best. I made an error in cutting; contacted them and they replaced the entire package. I wasn't expecting this. I asked how I could pay for the 2 pieces; they replaced the entire thing free. WOW! Great customer service. I love your videos, Laura

Uniquely shaped placemats with a fun twist! Annie’s monthly 6 fat quarter bundle w/pattern is a bit cost prohibitive for me however, the fabric seems very nice ~ perhaps one day I’ll splurge and give her service a try. Hopefully you’ll be able to post the link for your placemat tutorial . Thanks for sharing another super project❣️

I am a novice sewer. I have done an done a tone of sewing for my kids halloween costumes, made clothes for myself and my kids, made drapes, etc. Most of the time, I just feel I am faking my way through most projects and I have made them work. I am good at following directions. I came across Laura a couple months ago and I subscribed. I love the posts for all the reasons that everyone else has stated. So I decided to tackle this challenge. I carefully measured and cut everything with my clear rulers and my rotary cutting mat, and I sewed and pressed the hems as suggested. However, when I went to square my blocks, the best I could get was a 7" block. So, needless to say my placemats will be adorning my tiny kids table. I am committed to figuring out what I did wrong. I used a 1/4 inch seam allowance, is this not correct? Did I stretch the pieces as I sewed them? Did I press them in a way that caused them to stretch and warp? Did I buy cheap cotton fat quarters online and they didn't keep their shape? I am at a loss. The obvious answer to me would be the seam allowance, but when I go back and measure, they are all 1/4 inch. Am I missing something? Please help, anyone!!!
