The problem is not sex being “overhyped”. The problem is that it is under-appreciated. The fact that it is valued so low to the point where it is normal for people to sleep with multiple people and receive praise bottles my mind. To all the young people who haven’t experienced it yet, wait. If you wait for who you think is the right person instead of just going after every person who just gives it to you, you’ll have a greater chance of enjoying it and not regretting it.

Yup indeed - the way Paul talks about it in the Bible makes it very much a choice driven by whether or not you have that desire. It always seemed silly to me that churches or society as a whole would make a strong suggestion for one way or the other. Sure, there's data that married people generally live longer, and often live more fulfilling, happier lives, for those who don't fall into the massive divorce statistic (which by the way, that high ~50% consists primarily of repeat divorcees, not necessarily unique people getting divorced; so don't be discouraged by the statistics for anyone reading this).

Wow. That hit hard. This was very timely. I loved that part where you said that some people in a relationship now are with self-centered and immature people who don’t focus on inward character. I’m a freshman in college rn and I can’t count how many times I’ve started overthinking or being hard on myself for not being in a relationship like everyone else around me is, or for not having a stable “relationship” in my past because it was built around physical attraction. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the culture and the way things are defined by them. But in that past “relationship” God taught me to 1)value myself and love myself first, 2) to take my time with dating, and 3) to be aware of who really has a beneficial inward character that is worth being attracted to rather than their appearance. It’s taking time to let go of my trust issues, and it’s taking time for me to grow as a person and begin to truly love myself so that I can have the right people surrounding me. God’s been showing me that my identity doesn’t lie in a relationship or a guy who loves me and cares about me and takes me out on dates and stuff. My identity is rooted in Christ alone and that I need to be focused on the life He wants me to live, whether I’m married or still single years from now.

not but seriously, your so right! guys in my class talk about how they use lubricants and watch porn every night like its a daily routine and i'm like "harry your literally 12, why would you watch things like that? do your parents know?" his response was "my parents don't mind, after all everyone is doing it" and in my head i was just like. wtf bro like ur 12 don't be falling into addictions like this! i obv didn't say it to his face. but even in movies, music, school ugh its all so sex-driven. whilst i was in an adult pysch ward, i had this nurse named audrey ( gorgeous person strong in her faith ) and as we were watching cheesy romcoms from the 90's/ early 00's, she made the remark 'i wish movies these days could be like this. everything is so sex-driven now' and wow, was she right! its sad tho seeing people value the experience of sex over having a genuine connection with someone where you guys could laugh and chat like there's no tmrw, you'd have inside jokes and cheeky mannerisms all that is what love is to me. sure romantic affection is important bc without that its merely a friendship but to me i value the other aspects of love more. don't get me wrong ( well i'm not one to talk since i've never had my first kiss or anything for that matter ) i'm sure its nice but tbh if i had the scenario where i'd meet two guys 1 - hot guy who would just offer sexual affection, 2 - okay looking guy with a big heart, who would make me laugh and smile, we'd have inside jokes and just have fun, sure some kissing but no sex. imma pick number 2. its hard bc so many kids around me maybe without saying it out loud but would opt for number 1. it actually blows my mind how carefree people are, no respect for their bodies its just sad tbh. i can't even listen to most music nowadays cause it all about one thing. thank the Lord for christian music especially christian rap, bruhhh its so good. anyways thats like my 3rd rant in this comment section but yeah i 100% agree with what u said.

As a teenager sex is overhyped over talked about and over glamourized. i found myself feeling ashamed for not having sexual experience and stuff when i’m young. it’s so sad. i would sometimes pressure myself and it’s also sad bc i only did these things searching for love snd worth and wanting to be enough. But Jesus is enough, and hes all i need. edit: also guys pls dont be in unequally yolked relationships. i was a Christian ad they were not. this means that if i felt convictions about something and didn’t want to do something they ofc were not convicted snd didn’t understand why i felt that way.

I wish more people knew about this. I got to know a girl in a video game and we played together for a few months. One night I asked if I could add her on Discord so I could talk to her while in bed. I had known her for almost 2 months so I thought I'd share a picture of myself so she knew how I looked. The next day I noticed she hadn't sent me any messages or asked to play together. Just thought she was busy so I gave her some time. Days became weeks which then became over a month. I asked her why she had been so quiet, she simply said that she was busy "studying for school". I knew for a fact that she was really good at time management, so she was able most of the time to study first and then play a bit. I also saw her online playing games when she was giving me radio silence. Such a shame, we were pretty good friends and chatted almost everyday. Suddenly when she knows how I look I get total silence. Really hurts. TL:DR Met a girl via a video game, chatted for a couple of months and after giving her a face reveal she stopped chatting with me.

Sex is meant to deepen your connection and love not some sport that you keep seeking from anyone and everyone because deep within you want a connection. God knew how he created us and that is why those who marry as virgins statistically have the lowest divorce rates you can look it up. Loving someone and their soul is the true love guided by Christ and that is a blessed union in Christ even with challenges because beauty is fleeting and lust dies as fast as it builds up. Sex is not something where you need to have chemistry because the one that is for you will learn your body as you learn each other and that is where the so called chemistry happens which is even deeper because it’s rooted in love, respect and understanding for each other after developing that emotional connection. Sadly so many will only know sex as a sport of lust forever looking for the next best thing because they actually crave deep connection, bonding and understanding which does not come from the physical act of sex but true intimacy comes from the emotional connection and understanding of the person. I have the most amazing sex life and have always been satisfied with my husband being the only man I have slept with and the deep connection we share is just a blessing because the bond and love is what makes the sex amazing.

After finding my person, we both quickly realized how significantly less meaningful sex is than what we believed it to be prior to us meeting. Don't get me wrong, it can still be entertaining, fun, beautiful and romantic, but it simply doesn't hold the inherent focus it used to have when it was administered and syringed into our brains from our society on a daily basis. Right now, we think of it as kind of like wanting to get tipsy or a bit high from time to time, in other words, as an enjoyable little act between us. Now, unquestionably, this is all of course dependent on the bond between two people. The trust they bear for each other. If physical touch is the anchor of a relationship though, it is sure to lose its balance very soon and deteriorate drastically. Neither of them should be surprised if cheating occurs, for there is nothing substantial that holds these individuals together.

You always remind me why modest dress is important. It is honestly so hard! I’m not even the most immodest dresser but wow I feel the desire so much to dress with my midriff showing or wear shorter or tighter things and I just have to keep growing closer to the Lord and pray that he changes my desires. I love your videos and vulnerability in talking about sex and lust and sexual sin because it reminds me what truly is beautiful, which is not what the culture tells us is beautiful.

God really brought me to this video I kid you not. I searched up on google thoughts on waiting till marriage mind you my KZbin was already opened up because I was watching shorts and I was scrolling through bible versus and opinions of others on waiting and I come back to KZbin scroll a few more videos and this one pops up. I feel like God is really speaking to me in many ways. I prayed tonight as well because I feel like I don’t have a good relationship with sex either. Always worrying if I’d look good naked or just thinking way too much about it. I hope I keep very strong to wait till marriage

This really speaks to me. I was also introduced to pornography at a young age (under 10), and I never really considered the impact it made on my life until recently. To this day I've almost always prioritized sex over actually knowing a woman and learning about her and knowing her heart. I also struggled with addiction to alcohol from around 22 years old to 28 years old, and this August 31st I will be three years sober (praise God). I think I've learned that I have an addictive personality which makes it difficult to not over indulge in things I like. I was also raised in a Christian home and went to church as a child and a teen but once I hit my late teens/early twenties and got into drinking, I walked away from God and got into partying because I was in such denial of the pain I was experiencing due to certain life events that alcohol/sex/partying became my vices. I moved out of my parents house at age 24, finally got a new job after almost two years of being unemployed since 22. The drinking didn't stop though, it continued and so did my other habits. The years passed and I finally began to accept the fact that I had a drinking problem and I started fearing I wouldn't be able to stop. Meanwhile I had many dark drunken tear-filled nights that lead to me crying out to God for Him to save me and admitting I couldn't do it on my own anymore and I needed Him. This happened for a few months until He finally broke the addiction in one day and I'll never look back. Since then I went back to college, graduated, got a good job and I'm doing well. Now that that's out of the way, I can get back to how I can relate with this video. Considering all of my current struggles, I was finally able to quit watching porn, which I was typically watching 1-2x a day, because I realized how distorted of an idea it gave me to how a woman should look and it affected me in other ways too. Now, my main struggles are lust and prioritizing sex above actually getting to know a woman, and having the best intentions, seeing as I still crave validation/physical affection/words of affirmation. However, I do think I should start focusing on women who believe in God like I do. I was on and off dating apps for years, and it started to mess with me if I didn't get matches etc, making me feel like I wasn't good enough, when in reality I know that's not true and those apps are really only good for one thing - validation. I know plenty of people have actually met their husbands or wives on there and that's awesome. But for me, that's not what I wanted even though I knew it was what I needed. I finally deleted the dating apps almost two weeks ago and I'm trying every day to resist re-downloading them again because I just know it's not right for me. I've been in the process of going back to church and staying the course. I recently started going to a new church called MAPS Global, it's amazing and the community is awesome. Slowly but surely it seems like it's making a difference in my life, especially being in a community that's full of encouragement and the Holy Spirit. I now realize my entire comment might be kind of all over the place but I just wanted to chime in and give my piece. I hope one day I meet a woman and love her the way you love your wife, because that's a blessing. Thank you for this.

Thank you for being respectful with women. You bring me relief because you believe in the father. And it's comforting to hear words from him but from a human. I've seen a lot of people disrespect women and make fun of them because of the way that they look and it's not always necessarily beauty it's the opposite of what they think is pretty. And it's amazing to me how low they put someone due to the way that they look. And it made me upset but I have to learn not to get angered Just pray I'm struggling with that cuz I want to speak and stand up, but who am I to say something. It's on the internet you know. In real life is different that I can handle. But to hear people's opinions constantly just shows how deep the challenges to control

I'm Muslim and I just want to say that I really enjoy it when Christians are engaged in their Religion and praising god. I live in Germany and Christians here are not really practicing or even believing. And it is considered foolish or even worse. So I really enjoy it when I see People like you talk so enthusiastically and freely. I eventually found a lot of competent people to talk to learn about Christianity. It is really interesting and maybe you could do an interreligious dialog too.

it should be noted that the video is correct but the title is a tad backwards. the culture overhypes the fake version of sex, and completely neglects the true sex. so sex is technically underrated and always will be because sex is God's design and will always be under appreciated.
@stawbrykiss3532 жыл бұрын
This is really interesting…excuse my ignorance but what exactly would be the true version of sex in God’s design ?
@omnitone2 жыл бұрын
@@stawbrykiss353 it's rather complicated, hence why sex is reserved for adults. most adults in today's age are too incompetent to manifest correct sex. corinthians describes the husband like christ, and the wife like the church. so marriage is a symbol of the cosmic and significant relationship between christ and his followers. sex is also a means of bonding two people together. this is also scientifically proven. (oxytocin) which is why polygamy is so dangerous, because it greatly disrupts the humans mind. sex is also unlike porn. porn deviates from real sex in multiple ways. porn excludes the soul element of sex, and only is portrayed the bodily element. porn also portrays sex in a technically stupid way. porn teachs awful lessons about sex. real sex takes patience, communication, *consent,* and a mindset of servitude, but porn is about rushing, and submitting to the brainless desires of the brain. yea, ironic. porn also is terrible for usage because biologically, one orgasm a week is the perfect frequency (for most people) but the porn experience is constant stimulation without allowing the mind to enjoy anything. real Godly marriage and sex is about the husband serving the wife, and the wife serving the husband, but worldly sex is about FUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUNFUN which is very childish and lowly. the culture overhypes stupid shallow fun, but God has prepared a genuine deep experience for those who follow his principles and not their own. so the culture technically underhypes the real deal by sticking to what's easy. because real good sex requires work and dedication, but worldly sex is for the lazy and ignorant.
@shaunsteele692611 ай бұрын
@@stawbrykiss353 sex as God intended: two virgins coming together (both literally and figuratively) in marriage. It creates a bond that lasts a lifetime. For people who have already had sex with other people, it's much more difficult to form that bond.
