Two of my favorite guitars and guitarists in one video. This is surreal.

The guitar percussion at 4:55 was timed perfectly and fit like a glove as did the counter melody at 5:44 that walks down

Tommy knows all Music,,,,,,just like all the great "Voices" we've had since Mankind started imitating the sounds around him. It is always wonderful to see too!

Two guitar giants with very different personalities that can come together and complement each other beautifully. Thanks for posting - still i wish the audio recording quality was better.

An amateur with a pro! Forget personalities. The skill sets are a child with a Master. Not even close. Even how the handle and set up their equipment.

When you change a tuning *completely* like that, between two songs - it's gonna take a while for the strings to "set" properly. You will inevitable have to do a few corrections later on. Quite possible even *while playing* the next song! Every guitarist who has ever worked with multiple tunings on the same guitar in a concert situation FEARS those moments. I *love* how these necessary adjustments didn't become a nuisance *at all* for Tommy and Peppino. They didn't even break for a second! They just took it in stride with absolute professionalism. In fact, "the tuning thing" actually ended up *adding* a spontaneous extra touch of *fun* and some rare almost breathlessly *sensitive* moments to the show. It was even *better* for it! These guys really are TRUE musicians and TRUE artists. Everything becomes art in their hands. _Even the correction of a slightly out of tune string..._ Both guitar players reading and following the other one's mind completely. Almost becoming one. In harmony. So beautiful. I believe they call it *MUSIC* ...

Awesome ...an example of why Martin Taylor describes Tommy's skills as "frightening" !

Hey!I'd love to see that article/quote from Martin...Although I agree entirely. It is mind-blowing how Tommy has got himself to a place where he can find the melody in any song, no matter the tuning!!

That Tuning (DADEAE) in my own invented system of naming is either Drop A sus 4 (DA4) or Open E9 (OE9). Both names are equally valid for the same tuning. What I call Drop A (DA) is DADGAE. Open A (OA) is EAEEAE. EADEAE is Open A sus 4 (OA4) or "A Modal".

Amazing how easily Tommy seems to find his place in a song. Think would he could having heard it first and with 10 minutes of practice.

dada dudu yeah I've never thought anything bad about Tommy but it's a fine line here, he's a bit pushy though probably for the right reasons...

@@craigmaddenmusic3408 He's always pushy and has a tendency to take over shows however this is his workshop.

@@photopicker What? I've never witnessed that, in fact I have been aware how inclueing and supporting he is when sharing the stage. But I guess his mind-blowing skills grabs a hold of and demands one's attention, and maybe makes an impression of him as "taking over the stage".

Over-rated guitarists. Not very good improvisionists. Tommy is good on his thing but let him imprvise and solo he is gone, this other peppino is just so bad. There are a tonne of new talented players out there that just blows these old fellas away, like Mike Dawes, Calum Graham, Don Ross, Andy Mckee. Ok I have respect for the Australian.
