Watched this today after hearing about Akira Toriyama passing. His artstyle on this game as well as in the Animated cutscenes was glorious! I had hope we would one day get a Chrono Trigger Remake, but if Toriyama can't be a part of it, then it is best we appreciate what we have.

i was hooked on Puwexil a few months ago after i watched his ff7 run on AGDQ. not only did that run remind me of how powerful these games were for my childhood but they even inspired me to play several of those games again. just a few hours ago i finished a 45 hour casual run of the original FF Tactics and a few weeks before that i finished up BoF 3 and BoF 4.

The music makes this game: forest, End of Time, Zeal. The tranquility of underground frog hideouts. These runners make me sad though, admitting that exterior life is meaningless, so we may as well learn every turn in an old RPG...

I've been a master at this game since its release almost 23 years ago. Including New Game+ runs, I've literally been through it hundreds of times. There isn't anything left I don't know... Which is what I thought until today. I've never in my life seen that Green Dream/Elixer bug. I may not be a part of the speedrunning community, but I'm still shocked I learned something about this game today. Well done.

I always pronounced it as Marl I've also seen debates on how to pronounce Magus, I usually say "May-gus" but most people seem to say "Mag-us"
@ManMadeGod46 жыл бұрын
I think it's Marl because the name Merle is pronounced Merl. That's how I argue it at least. Magus is more confusing since I've heard it pronounced four different ways. May-jus or May-gus and Mag-us or Maj-us.
@Synndell6 жыл бұрын
the real pronunciation is mar lee and mag us
@keinlanz5 жыл бұрын
I believe most people say "Marl" not "Marlee", but the pronunciation is subjective so it really doesn't matter that much. Magus, on the other hand, should be "MAY-gus"

I loved the run up until you glitch em with elixirs. Those kind of glitches i hate seeing in speed runs. It just completely breaks the game.
@KountryKowboy297 жыл бұрын
It aint a speed run until you do it 100% legit I dont like glitches, cheats, or walk throughs following someone else's strategies and tricks if you dont play the game legit instead of glitches and junk its not showing no skill at all i dont mind what the hell anyone says about it either. Didn't accomplish nothing by doing it if you cannot play it legit that is worse as Ocarina of Time watching an idiot jumping through a fence glitching the board with a chicken to slide all the way to ganon with 3 hearts beating the game. Just as much as Chrono Trigger trying to get to Lavo's the easy way without doing it the hard way its not no competetion by speed running through the game with glitches and tricks that doesn't prove anything. When I play RPG I find it all 100% no matter how long it takes then I beat the game when I find everything unlocked instead of rushing through the game with speed runs glitching my way to what did I accomplish by doing it nothing. A true gamer plays a speed run legit not glitches his or her way through the game trying to beat top score if you cheat your time shouldn't count at all.
@eudaimonistic7 жыл бұрын
That's why there are different categories. You can do a speedrun with no glitches, a 100% speedrun with no glitches, an any% run with or without glitches... You need to read up a little more on speedrunning before you claim you know what does and doesn't count as a legitimate speedrun. The community has very specific rules, and this allows people to compete for different goals. That way, everybody is happy! So, when do you plan on submitting your glitchless run?
