Good point about reading the manual. I've found when getting back into these games that reading the manual is often mandatory. All the newer games generally have a tutorial or other handholding. Anytime I play something retro I didn't play as a kid, I'm totally like "what the heck am I doing?" because the games I actually played before...I read the manual back then! Thankfully scans of manuals are all over the place online.

Both are very different. The SNES version plays like a point and click CRPG, while the Genesis version is more of an action RPG. The Genesis version is more difficult to get into because there are some systems you need to learn (but also rewarding when you figure them out). Had this game with my Nomad and never passed it. I was to the point where I had the implants to make my gun skills crazy where I could one shot anyone. I put way too much towards that and not enough into hacking skills so I might have been stuck. I sold it later, game was mint because I only read the manual once and it had one of those Genesis clam shells. I might try it again, I think it was a little more advanced than a Dragon Quest or a Final Fantasy and as a kid I couldn't get far in it.
