I sincerely hope that by the end of this campaign, just as a joking thing, Wrath asks (or finds some means) to create oars with magic. Could even me a mundane magic item I suppose. XD I think that would be poetic. Spoilers for current episode below now; That double crit was COMPLETELY INSANE!!! I LOVED IT!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! I actually couldn't handle how awesome it was. It was concentrated and pure D&D right there. Everyone reactions were priceless. Besides that, I'm in love with Rickard (SP?) Steelfang's story arc so far, and I sincerely hope that he doesn't betray them! The entire Druid storyline was also a complete and utter masterclass in D&D as well. Thank you for such an invigorating story and awesome campaign as always everyone! You're amazing!

Monty mentionned it was a rule of cool moment, which reminded me that Frightened does not give disadvantage, but inability to attack. I think that adds to the epicness of the moment.

@@voidmystic00 true, and I could be wrong, but I do recall that last session, Monty added some variance to the Nalfeshnea's Horror Nimbus: 1. Wilhelm was unable to attack it, making him run away, attacking the Bonehead with disadvantage. 2. Wilhelm then made his save on frightened once, which the vanilla stat block states would give him immunity from that fear for 24 hours. As such, I believe Monty used the common variance where a monster stat block states "target is frightened and must spend their movement to get away from the monster."

Good point. Additionally, despite the double-crit, he wouldn't get sneak attack since disadvantage is one of the things that negates sneak attack. Kind of glad they didn't notice that though cause it would've just ruined the moment.

@@jacktom3799 Bruce would have had to be flanking the monster to cancel the disadvantage, which is different from simply being next to the monster. To flank a creature, you have to be standing in the position directly opposite to that of your ally. Wilhelm was standing on the wall, the creature floated over to him, and then Bruce ran up the wall as well. Given that positioning, flanking would not have been possible. Bruce would have had to fly behind the creature, which I don’t think he could have done and, regardless, did not do. This would also likely put Bruce within 5ft of Wilhelm, which would, again, negate sneak attack under the swashbuckler’s Rakish Audacity ability.

Plan some healers and back and forth motion too. If some1 gets too much dmg, then ask few men to draw wounded back and heal them. This allows more consentration in the battle itself. Group of 3 is pretty narrow, when someone needs healing or dispel magic, etc. Also healers can be meatshields for the party when needed. 😱

...Just grab 3 Bottled Comets, slap on the Fly spell, throw axes, use crossbows, and ranged spells to whittle him down. Keep Charlie close by, and the 60ft Fly Speed should be enough to keep in range provided you pop down now and again, or low enough for an easy swipe or two. Keep Wrath out of range, primary bait is Rudy, and when Rudy gets low, switch off with Wilhelm whole Rudy gets some health back. The luxury of planning about a known battlefield is a rare thing, let alone being able to select it on your terms. Don't waste it by over-complicating plans. Simple Bait and Swipe. Gonna have to take a few hits. Don't rely on Save based spells, as much as Hypnotic Pattern would be great, Wrath with his Eldritch Blast moving around should be just enough to keep Mr. Wolf from running too far too hard while keeping up the pressure. Only use the Boom Glass of ye need it and are low on Damage options, or can trap him. 😐 Yes, the double crit on DisAdv was cool, and felt great for Kelly, but the odds are the same of rolling any number twice on Adv or Dis Adv. Two 16's, two 1's, two 10's etc.

Ummm, if you read the comments, about 1 in every five or so talks about the stupid sneak attack damage. In fact, Dungeon dudes replied several times saying that it was a rule of cool thing while everyone was in such a high about the disadvantage crit.
