Great payoff and I love how every time we get some answers it just brings up more questions about delirium. Love the contamination mechanic and mutations as well, poor Pluto had a day! Please some artistic fan out there, draw Pluto in feebleminded, possessed, fish/spider, stomach maw form and share it with us! 🤣 Thank you all for what you’re doing, it’s been so much fun watching you play over the last couple years and it’s helped me laugh and smile during some rough times. Him knowing when to prevent that by introducing a different problem that let's the game continue shows exactly why you want a "Monty" Running the game for you. It's one thing to kill the whole group due to their own mistakes, but being able to recognize that and STOP it from happening with natural in game events and letting that failure carry on along WITH the game is the sign of a truly great DM. @@purience1502 Well, the "No one ever dies...that is Monty's only flaw" is hard to read in any other way. Life isn't dair, that's one of the reasons many play D&D, to escape. And skillfully avoiding deaths while keeping the stakes high is harder and more worthwhile than allowing them to die.

I feel like the dynamic range of the audio is a bit too large and I have to adjust volume often. If I adjust for comfortable listening of Monty's storytelling, the players get too loud when excited. I'm not sure if this should be fixed in the audio setup or in post-processing but some compression would make for a better viewing (or rather listening) experience. Love you guys!

Quite an episode, huh ? SPOILERS I wanted to specifically praise Monty on the writing of Lucretia, she's easily my favorite NPC and has been since the "purple heart turned gold" phrase came up (it's in one of the later episodes of "Dungeons" when the trio finally decides to read the book and later have a conversation with her). In hands of a lesser writer it would be all too easy to just paint her as a crazy doomsday cult leader, but the fact that she has quite a deep understanding of the situation adds so much weight and complexity to the story. Just compare the very first talk that the heroes have with her (and how dismissive they are) and the one in this episode, you'll see what I'm talking about.
@paraalso2 жыл бұрын
Lucretia is one of my favorites too, and I'd count the Queen of Thieves as another one. I never understood why the Drakkenforce treated her like evil incarnate. Maybe because of that one time she beat them and had them at her mercy.

I imagine when Sebastian is contacting his mom, eventually he asks her, "You really are my mom, right?" And she says, "Yes." Then as the second question he asks, "If you were a demon pretending to be my mom or being told what to say by a demon, would you tell me?" To this she answers, "No."

@petrus90672 жыл бұрын
i had a thought kinda inspired by final fantasy xiv. So basically there's a side content boss there that is the fused mutation of 3 very skilled heroes/soldiers (sidecharacters). And it's pretty much the equivalent of eldritch contamination in ffxiv called tempering which when exposed too much to the energy or tempered by a Primal (like beings of pure energy and faith) so its like a delirium mutation. The important part is this Boss, called Trinity Avowed (three friends that made a promise) switches weapons in the fight, representing the three soldiers: a bow, a sword and shield, and a mage staff. I was like... wait that is the drakkenforce weapons!! So i just kinda got into this pretty dark timeline or alternate story where sebastian veo and pluto succumb to the delirium and maybe they would form together into a multiskilled monster... 😔 which is an incredibly scary thought considering their power. Not really the same storywise i would think, but design wise it really made me think how similar it is! (Also bonus, there's another boss of the same vibe Trinity Seeker, which would be for wilhelm, wrath and rudi, but that one the weapons don't match) anyways great story!

Most of my characters would totally serve Lucretia. In the world of DND where an afterlife is guaranteed, sacrificing yourself to literally save the multiverse (especially when said ultimate sacrifice will probably occur after I die) would be a cause most of my characters would band with
@martiansoon9092 Жыл бұрын
There is one logical mindset that is missing. First save yourself, then save others. (Anyone followed what aeroplane safety instructions say?) If you are incapasitated, you cannot help others. But if you have remaining functionality, then you may help others. This is pretty clear in all of these battles, when you hit the floor and others that are still moving may save you. That is basic D&D. Having no solutions is no answer, but having even one is a solution that may be given to others. (If you find a cure for disease, it can multiplied and the be spread across the world.)
@MageLeaderInc Жыл бұрын
Shouldn't they be rolling for mixing potions? The armor makes you immune to poison and necrotic damage. The neutralizing field was only resistance to poison and necrotic damage. And because Pluto was still in the field shouldn't he be protected from contamination no matter what?
