Today I'm talking about the 2nd generation of the iconic Omega Seamaster 300M Professional Diver Co-Axial (Ref. 212.30.41.20.01.003) which was in production from 2012 to 2018.
This is actually my own personal Seamaster Professional 300M, which I picked up in 2018 just before the new 300M Diver Professional came out with the updated movement & wave dial.
0:00 Intro
1:27 Design & History of the Seamaster 300M Diver
2:49 On the Wrist
3:54 Movement & Function - Omega Calibre 2500 Co-Axial
4:55 Finish & Details
6:58 3 Best things about the Omega Seamaster Profesional
10:10 3 Negatives of the SMPC
12:53 Price
Having owned this watch for nearly two years, the Omega Seamaster has proven time and time again that it is one of the most versatile dive watches available, and its range from dive watch to dress watch show exactly why the Omega Seamaster 300M is the watch James Bond wears throughout the entire Pierce Brosnan era, as well as the beginning & end of the Daniel Craig era. And despite this second generation never being an official Bond Watch, it still embodies the spirit of the James Bond Seamaster.
The Omega SMPC is 41mm in diameter, 13mm thick and features 300M of water resistance, a helium escape valve and on the inside it has the Omega Calibre 2500 (Based on the ETA2892) with their own Co-Axial escapement, COSC certification & 48 hours of power reserve.
What do you think of the Seamaster Profesional Ceramic? Do you think that the second generation lives up to the greatness of the original Bond watch? Or do you prefer the new wave dial Seamaster 300M? Let me know what you think in the comments section.

The 2012 seamaster is gorgeous, looks classy and yet sporty. The 41mm case is perfect. I prefer the 2012 piece than the 2018 piece.

This was my second Omega and the one that I wear the most. It is a beauty for sure and I can lose my self into that stunning depth of the dial. Also, perhaps the most versatile watch you can have. I always wear it when I travel. Use it on the beach during the day and at dinner in the evening. Sutch a awesome piece.

Nice review my man. You know, in one of the all time bonehead moves I sold my '93 Seamaster with a ton of other pieces sometime around 2005. Best recollection, it went for around £900! Mint condition too. Of all the pieces I sold including PP, AP and just about everything else, that is still the one that rankles...!

the size is great 41mm and 13mm thick, agree this is better than 42mm and nearly 14mm thick on the new model. They've also upped the link thickness on the new model to around 3.5-4mm which is overkill! Great that you switched clasps.

I have all the respect in the world for Rolex but for me at least this hobby is about so much more than just Rolex (+Nautilus + Royal Oak) so I try my best to cover watches & brands that are less known, while still doing the odd Rolex video here and there because they do get views & at the end of the day Rolex usually people's first reference point into the hobby. Thanks for the support & for commenting :) More cool watch videos to come!

@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
I kind of like that you don't see too many, feels like its a more exclusive club hehe. Though mostly its down to it only being around for 6 years, its replacement is already coming up to 3 years in production & the original wave dial was from 95-2012, so the chances of seeing a non-wave will always be smaller vs the wave dials

@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you liked the video :) Yeah choosing between the two is so tough, I started my search lookign for a blue wave-dial Brosnan era Seamaster, but what really made me like the black was seeing Sean Bean's one in Goldeneye with (what looked like in the lighting) a black dial...and it was just so sinister, and then with the non-wave dial..it just all made sense. But the blue dial is great too, and on both the sapphire really disappears so you just get these endless looking dials :D

Oof some difficult questions at the end! I'm personally not a huge fan of the Seamaster 300M but I can definitely see where the appeal is. This one, as you've said, has more of that dressy feel and I think it would make a great 1 watch collection watch if you're into the look. I think, depending on your tastes, a good one watch collection would be a Rolex Sub, a Cartier Tank, or an IWC Portugeiser Chronograph. All three seem to be versatile and work well with any attire, though I guess the Tank is the least sturdiest of the three (ironic naming). I guess the three would make a good three watch collection too. I have the Cartier Cle, and my next two grail watches are Breguet Classique 7147 in rose gold with the guilloche dial, and the ALS 1815 in white gold. Two very different dress watches showing off opposite ends of the spectrum!- Han
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 4 жыл бұрын
Very good choices, though I'd throw the Cartier Santos in there too, it's a bit sportier than the Tank but can still pass as dressy (especially in the medium size) That's so cool that you have a Cle! I've never seen one in the metal but I love the way it looks, how long have you had it for? Great choices for grails with the Breguet & the Lange - hopefully you can get them soon :)
@nukie404
@nukie404 4 жыл бұрын
@@ShahLusso Thank you, it has been roughly 3 years since I've owned the Cle (it's the SS version). A Cartier was my grail watch since I was a young lad but I didn't really know which one, so when the opportunity came around to get a luxury watch (wedding) I ended up going for the newest release at the time. Thankfully I've found it to be more than decent for me, and I have been enjoying the fact that it is an uncommon watch. I don't think I'd recommend it as a first luxury watch to someone else though, I feel there are more versatile watches at Cle's price range. I agree with the Santos de Cartier being a great starter watch too, especially with the new quick release strap/bracelet system. As for grails: haha unfortunately not rolling in that sort of money range currently but yes, one can dream! - Han
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 4 жыл бұрын
I agree, I like the idea that it's a bit off the beaten path - it was a similar case with my Pasha - I liked Cartier as a brand and while the new Santos is amazing & the Tank is a classic, I wanted something that was a little more unique & Cartier has a great back catalog of quirky watches amongst their string of classics. And well as for grails, I'm pretty sure part of the magic is the wait to be able to get them, I know I won't have VC Overseas Dual Time money anytime soon but when I do then it'll make buying it all the more satisfying & then I'll probably just set a new grail after that haha. The best and worst thing about this hobby is it keeps moving the goalposts :D

I got this one in blue, it´s really beautifull and I will never sell it....the only thing that bothered me a bit sometimes is that bracelet design, it´s not timeless like a rolex oyster bracelet, it really shouts 90ies....I´ve put it recently on a milanaise strap, and wow, what a homerun, it´s like it was meant to be, fantastic combo!
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 2 жыл бұрын
Oooh the blue..it's the endless what if question i ask myself (though it never ends up going anywhere because i love my black dial 🤣). Tbh I quite like the bracelet but I know its polarizing and the Oyster's proven its timelessness by far. I've also got a milanese for my SMP and got to agree, its a great look - tbh it's such a versatile watch - on leather, sailcloth, rubber, milanese, flat link, it looks great on pretty much anything. Hope you keep enjoying your Seamaster for years to come :)
@zsb707
@zsb707 10 күн бұрын
The bracelet is timeless but less bland than the Oyster and less dressy than the Jubilee. Plus, it's really comfortable. The Milanese-style bracelet is nice but not as iconic and kind of cheapens the look (many $500 watches have this type of bracelet).

@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a tough choice - the blue is more true to its James Bond heritage, but the black is more versatile (a bit more elegant, and goes with any other color of strap for example) When I got mine it was my first luxury watch so the versatility was really important, but if it’s joining a bigger collection where you have other watches with different color dials then you don’t need to worry as much about versatility. Hope that helps! If you get a chance put both next to each other and go with whichever one just feels right :)

@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 6 ай бұрын
Rolex’s first ceramic bezels came in 2005 on the GMT Master (ref. 116718LN), then the Submariner joined in 2010, meanwhile the SMP300M didn’t get a ceramic bezel till 2012 for the regular divers As for ceramic cases, Omega beat them to that with the Dark Side of the moon but Rado beat both Omega & Rolex to that in the 80s :)
