Stand Walker is a walking miracle himself. We nearly lost him with and illness that meant he had to have his stomach removed...The fight he put up was a miracle in itself. He sings with gratitude....Amazing song. Great reaction too.

I remember seeing Stan on Australian Idol back in the day. The guest judges were always blown away by his voice. Like Michael Buble and the Good Charlotte guys. Benji and Joel said Stan could sing anything. I think at the time Stan was only 17 or 18. He was great then but has just gotten better and better

There is a documentary of Stan's journey and battle with cancer right here on youtube, well worth a watch to even better understand what he has overcome. He oozes talent. Check out his version of Don't Dream It's Over, originally by Crowded House. Brings tears to my eyes listening to him singing in te reo Maori too, reflecting his culture and mana.

Yeah Stan New Zealand born Indigenous Maori. His family Moved to Australia in his early teens for a few years and he entered and won Australian idol. He moved back to New Zealand after his contract with Aussie idol was over. I believe being in a contract stunted his own style of music and once that was over Stan had the opportunity to follow his own dream and style of music. Here’s the result of Stan developing his own style instead of having to follow the direction of the record company. The dedication to Shawn Wainui.
