The best young boxer technically. Keyshawn is also there but Shakur's subtle details, his manipulations and the way he sets/breaks the pace whenever he wants to and lures people is next-level. Dude is so young yet he has REAL VET skills like Crawford or late Floyd or whatever... His boxing is so smart and mature. There's nobody in the world who OUTBOXES him over 12 rounds at light/junior WW and he's only going to improve for a decade or so if he keeps his nose clean and brain working... If you compare him and Haney, you'll see that Shakur is better LITERALLY EVERYWHERE and at everything. The only upside Devin has is his physical strength which he has developed recently. He's more of a JWW/WW fighter whereas Shakur's physicality I think will take a year or two more to develop.

Watching this again and noticed when Shakur paws to keep an opponent off him, he’s also measuring distance. Often time he’ll paw and step back to evade a punch but by having his hand out he knows exactly how far away his opponent is from his lead hand and uses that knowledge to throw a punch shortly afterwards
@raxmanbox Жыл бұрын
Shakur looked great at 35! Like a lightweight that will naturally move to 140 and then 147. I expect to see his ko % ratio actually increase. I'm a Tank and a Haney fan, but i think I'm leaning to Shakur in those fights. Of all the things SS does, I love his lead foot variations. He'll line up straight on like Spence and not only can he take the usual outside position, but like Pac he'll take the inside line and then drill a jab or jab + rear hook/overhand This vid highlights his defense but i think the most impressive part is that its not all just because of young legs or reflexes it's skill based defense - using his arms and gloves, subtle body position shifts where his opponent just isn't able to throw effectively - which indicates like Floyd but unlike say Roy Jones - Shakur should still be a great defensive fighter even once he ages

I noticed Shakur is getting more more dominant and aggressive in his foot movement, tries to hold his ground a lot and even if he steps back he will move back in, even when he is the 'defender' or the 'non puncher' in the matchup, he makes it a point to couple up 2 kinds of traps/setups into one like occupying a lead hand and a body eye feint on top, and then he also does the approximately 50/50 circling to always be in the centre of the ring as much as possible. He has speed and rhythm changes top iq guys like Loma have. Against other movers / dudes who never left the amateur style he does the smart thing of not rushing and feinting and incrementally moving in half steps, baiting and drawing to counter the counter itself like he did vs conceicao. Lots of other things I probably do not see yet. So relaxed at all times too.

@jasongreen7860 Жыл бұрын
Inoue got a tough one against fulton don't wanna overlook inoue though I did it with loma vs haney (robbery imo) and teo vs taylor, I won't do it again. It all depends on if fulton can make that jab a factor and also if naoya finds hitting him hard as he can be very hard to hit, also how inoue will deal with the movement
@musicsdarkangel Жыл бұрын
@@jasongreen7860 Inoue has an excellent pendulum step and is the only boxer other than Bivol that’s always in a position to punch. Fulton is slick but if anyone can do it, it’s Inoue. Beautiful, great analysis yet again. He seems to have it all, Shak, his poise and balance are exceptional, and he can bring it when he needs to. I'd love to see him against someone a bit next level; if you've got a Rolls Royce, you never want to crash it into a tree just to see how it deals with it, but I'd like to see him face someone of the calibre of Rolly Romero or Isaak Cruz before he even thinks about the Haneys or the Garcias. He's a breathtakingly good talent, but it would be a shame and a waste to see him tossed straight in the deep end. I'd also like to say I think the stoppage was spot, Yoshino was getting hurt repeatedly by a vastly superior fighter who was just picking up the pace and he had nowhere to go. I know all too well that every punch you take to the head will come back to claim a part of you as you age, so I viewed the end as an excellent bit of refereeing. Excellent study once again, son, keep up the brilliant work 💚

Devin has issues with southpaws ducking to his right, and will have a hard time controlling Shakur with the jab. Ryan (lol), Teo just ain't gone fight him😂. @williamdavis8855 I've always been a fan of Usyk or even Joe Joyce. It's just the cocky personality that gets under my skin. Something like Teofimo Lopez I really don't like. I don't think Shakur is a bad person by any means but I think he tries too hard to come across as the bad guy in the build ups of his fights and its cringey if you ask me. That's just me though. I can't deny the guy has otherworldly talent and has earned his praise more so than some other fighters out there.

@@Anne6972 nothing wrong wit that. My first sports hero was Muhammad Ali 1975 Rumble in the Jungle... I was 5... Love trash talking if you can back it up. 🥊 🥊

@@williamdavis8855 Nothing wrong with liking Ali either! He had a real charm to his trash talking which was more comedic than what you normally see today. It seems to be more bark than bite these days.
