I’ve been a big Taylor fan since like 2008 and stalking and SA issues is something she’s really passionate about based on personal experiences. Like as recently as January a guy crashed his car into her building and ripped off the intercom trying to find her. I was around 16-17 when that video came out and at the time I had an older ex boyfriend who stalked me for a couple of months, in person and online, and it’s extremely terrifying and traumatizing. So it was so sad and frustrating watching his fans go after her for wanting that video taken down and feeling threatened. And then he’d do interviews talking sh!t about her for doing it which just made it worse.

I relate to and feel bad for her because we've both experienced stalking which is an absolute nightmare. Yeah, while I think that people with mental illnesses can often be great parents, Shane Dawson literally often talked/talks about not showering for days, just eating crap and lying around doing nothing. Some people say that having a child really put things into perspective for them and got them out of that kind of mental state, and while that's great for them, having a child isn't supposed to be an alternative to getting a hobby or therapy. You should try to make sure you're well adjusted, not only financially and physically, but also mentally. Shane is definitely not that. That's not even touching on all the gross opinions he has and things he says, that he thinks is hilarious and quirky. No child should have to grow up hearing their parent say children are s*xy or pretending to have a w4nk over Willow Smith

The major issue with the Blank Space parody was that she has multiple seriously scary stalkers. Like someone broke into her house and slept in her bed. She has a state of the art face scanning technology for people entering her concerts to catch her stalkers. She carries military grade wound dressing because, as she puts it, “You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things”. I’d want something like that video down immediately too.

he probably was this gratuitous with the violence because he's said he's always wanted to make horror movies (theres another argument to be made about how horror violence can have an effect on actual violence, not just in a "horror movie bad" way, but that's for another day) and i guess used this as his avenue? like he knew he got popular for this kind of content and would likely lose views if he took a sudden genre shift, so he worked it into the content he was already making. but even with that, what could he possibly be thinking? that it would be good for his audience, that was primarily made up of young people and ESPECIALLY young girls, to witness severe violence, mainly towards women? i get that some people watch this kind of horror from a young age, but actively seeking out horror is SO much different than going to your favorite youtuber for another of his funny videos and getting...this.
