You're the most innovative sound designer on the planet! I'd REALLY like to see what kind of synth YOU could create with a couple solid software engineers. I'm thinking you'd corner the market with what you'd contrive. Great stuff as always. (Everytime I watch your vids, it gets my wheels turning! Thanks so much for what you do.)

Great technique! These kind of modulations are native in Massive X and i use that feature so much. Glad to know that there is kinda workaround in Vital!

Your ability to reverse engineer is unreal.. I was doing something similar on the Virus before I stopped to take a break.. You engineered the whole damn patch from scratch(Semi-Modular?) and made it better. Lol Cheers man.

Thanks so much for sharing such in depth patching ideas!!! I wonder if a third method would be possible: by mapping/mode remapping the Amount of the different LFO shapes. It would be like Soloing each LFO shape. Not sure it would work, I haven't tried yet.

Isn't that the first method I explained though?

Great content! So is there anyway to morph the lfo smoothly in vital, or modulate the coordinates of the points like in serum?
@DashGlitch Жыл бұрын
Not like in serum, but you can blend between shapes like I showed here, it will interpolate values and result in a smoother shape, but it won't be as elegant as serum or using a Wavetable LFO
@Interspectral Жыл бұрын
I think you only showed shifting the shapes but not morphing them smoothly? or you can do that by creating ramps instead of bars in the mod remap of method 1?@@DashGlitch

I don't, but there are several ways (Juce being the forerunner)

Cool but still not nearly as smooth as modulating breakpoints like in Serum. Hopefully in a Bitwig updates the new segments/curves/transfer where you can also modulate points and curves.

Useful techniques, many thanks again Dash! I have an unusual question, about modulation in Bitwig... is it possible to use a WAV file as a modulator? I'm planning to generate a song-length WAV with sub-audio waveforms in it, like an LFO but it never repeats (it's for an experimental project). Then I wanted to use that WAV to modulate a wavetable oscillator position. Yes, I know I could draw an automation curve... but this is a more precise application, where I'm generating the modulation curve in software so I need to be able to import its shape... Not sure if anyone knows the answer, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask here!
