Thanks for the review. Clearly, you don't have pets if you think the small brush will be used primarily on stairs. I think the later model Dysons have much improved hard floor performance, so the Shark may not have quite such an advantage over newer Dysons, though the ability to go between hard floors and carpet without swapping heads is a plus. Pity the carpet performance was mediocre. You did say 'the bin tells a different story' or words to that effect. Was the amount of dirt picked up by the Shark comparable to the Dyson V7 even though the Shark didn't fluff up the carpet as much?

Fluffing up the carpet does not mean its clean also on the Dyson he specifically used the carpet head which increases suction on carpet 50% more than the soft roller head. (Dyson said it them selves.) So if you put only a carpet head on the shark it excel the Dyson in every way.

Hi, just purchased. I find that when you place foot on base to tilt handle backward for back roller to come on, it makes a loud clicking sound. Is this normal?

How does the efficiency of the pre-motor filter compare to that of the Dyson V7? How does it compare on hard floor pickup to the Dyson Fluffy head, supplied on the V8 Absolute and V10 Absolute, which are both cheaper models to buy than the Shark? What is the weight comparison between the Shark and the Dyson handsticks? Its a good effort from Shark and a great idea, but at a huge price of £480, combined with the fact that its made in China, and Chinese products are renowned for shoddy build and poor durability, its even more expensive than the Dyson V10 Absolute, which does come with the specialist hard floor fluffy head, which is designed to remove large debris as easily as that on the Shark. What about the price of spare batteries? I suspect they will be around the £100 mark, so not cheap, considering you pay almost half a grand for the vacuum in the first place.

@@dtz1000 Exactly my point. Shark roller head on the front is a soft roller which has an open front there for creating a loss of suction. It's not fare to compare these 2 vaccumes as each one has their positives and negatives. The 3 most important thing that people look in a cordless vaccume is run time, functionality and of course most importantly it should vaccume. Both of them have all 3 of these things. Everything else is a bonus (deciding factor) I personally am more inclined to the shark only because of the additional features and of course the swappable battry.

@@dtz1000 no it's not stupid. I have hard wood floors that's 1 thing. Secondly you didnt understand my point. Shark also has a seperate head only does carpet cleaning which would "fluff" the carpet if that's what's important for you. Just check the video again incase you didnt hear. He said the Dyson "fluffs" the carpet better but when check the bins shark does clean quite well. The carpet gets fluffed when the edge of the roller head has no gap thus pulling the threads towards the head thus fluffing the carpet. I can't believe I have to explain this word by word. I mean you called me stupid for saying what's right. Not sure what I should call you for saying what's wrong. Also not to mention the Dyson V10 gets clogged by a single fruiteloop. In multiple youtube tests and by my experience even with v7 I had the same issue. Most fruitloop sized debrie would stop the suction. I would have to open the bin and break the debris out. I choose my vaccume cleaner based on a lot more than just battry and features, these are just bonuses.

@"Rock On" You seem to have problems with comprehension. The reviewer clearly said at the 5:04 mark that the shark falls behind its cordless competitors when it comes to cleaning carpets. And it was compared to a Dyson V7 which is an older Dyson model. The reviewer also said that looking at the bin reveals the shark collects it's fair share of dirt but for some reason your brain tells you he's saying the shark is better. No he is not saying the shark cleans carpets better than an older model Dyson V7. At 6:45 he says, "it's performance on carpet is not the best...the Dyson V7, which is a couple of years older, is actually better". Ok, so I see you edited your previous reply. So now you no longer claim the shark cleans better on carpets. But you still claim the shark has an extra cleaning head just for carpets. Well that is simply not true. There is no extra carpet cleaning head on the shark unless you mean the stair cleaning tool. So you're stuck with the substandard performance you get out of the box.

You know it doesn't make much sense to me you don't buy a vacuum cleaner and review it is saying it's the best hard floor vacuum cleaner vacuums are for carpets so if it isn't any good on carpets within it's just clearly no good on anything you buy it for carpets not hardwood floors so I guess in your opinion it's just no good

He said the performance on carpets “wasn’t the best”. During the video he also said that while the Dyson visibly plumped the carpet (agitated it) seeming to do a better job, the bin of the Shark told a different story i.e. it was picking up lots of debris and dust. From this you have somehow gleaned that the Shark is no good on carpet at all and been left with the impression that it’s useless. And you have the ability to vote. Scary!
