Shark Ion Rv700 robot vacuum cleaner tear down. How to replace all parts

So here is the tear down video on how to remove any of the parts that you will ever need to replace. This robot is not a easy one to take part compared to the newer ones. You will need some tools like a Phillips head screwdriver a t10 driver narrow shaft and a t6 screwdriver as well.

Great video! My RV720 got wet. Now it will not work. I am getting a strange error light. It's blue and looks like a square battery with a clock face on the upper right corner of the battery icon. I cannot find that icon anywhere in the Shark site or docs. Anyway, I replaced the batter,y no luck, so I am thinking perhaps replace the motherboard. After seeing this, I'm not so sure I could get everything plugged into the right place! Any thoughts?

Hi Smitty We have a 750 that is giving us just a red exclamation error. I am told it could be the suction motor. Is this something you could fix?

Took my cordey r350 apart because I keep getting a main brush error, assuming the main brush motor is bad along with the bearing. But now I need to find a replacement motor.

Scratch that, cleaned the bearing and reassemble. It's working great now. Bearing must've been causing it to overheat and shut down

I keep getting “bumper got stuck” error message. I have removed and cleaned bumper, it moved freely when I tap it. Any ideas?

Can you unplug the wi-fi so it stops asking for your network. That is driving me crazy. I don’t want a Wi-Fi robot.

My mother has a Shark Ion RV750. When you press the 'Clean' button, the robot just turns CCW a little bit, but never completes the full circle. It then stops, and all the lights begin flashing (Including the !). I tore it partially down today, examined the two drive wheels, and both seemed to working both electrically and mechanically. If the motherboard on the Shark RV750 is similar to your Shark Ion RV700, perhaps one or two of the power transistors on the motherboard went out. Anyways, it's warm today so I might tinker with it later.

I'm a pretty intelligent person but there is NO way I could do all of this. I don't have the tools, and I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to put this all back together. If I were looking for someone to repair mine (it's making a crazy loud grinding noise, I suspect a gear or a belt from my limited research) what and who would I search for? A local robot/vacuum/electronics repairman?

My RV700 is clean and it stops after just 1foot and a red exclamation sign and a clean sign flashes and the robot beeps. It is fully charged. I reset it , cleaned it etc and still only moves about a foot and then stops and beeps and these lights are flashing. Wheels are moving easy by hand, so does the whiskers. Brushes are clean, etc. In fact this unit is about 2 years old but barely used. I would hate to throw it out. Any way to fix it ?

My robot turns on and works for like 10 seconds then it stops and a red❗️appears I checked on my manual and it says the suction motor needs something done. Ok so what happened to my robot was that my cat sprayed on it lol I know it sucks. The question is can it get fixed???

would like to see you disassemble wheel assembly for shark ion rv750 would like to see where the snap ring goes . does it go under the gear that fits to wheel axle or above the gear the snap ring just doesn't seem to fit on this shaft as there is no groove for it to fit in.

Any idea how to fix one that runs for 4 seconds and then has a red flashing clean + ! error? Mine is a SharkION RV700_N. The manual says the error is suction motor failure. Shark said they couldn't do anything since its out of the warranty time frame and that they don't fix them.

Suction motor is bad has something in it or the motherboard is going bad parts are hard to find so best to upgrade unfortunately

Smitty - I've watched several of your KZbin videos, and they are great! My problem is unusual; it is not a mechanical fix. A 16 x 20 picture dropped onto our RV750n and struck it right on the POWER button. Now that button is lit, but the Shark won't do anything. So, I think what I need is the top case for it. I haven't seen this addressed in any of your videos. Can you help?

I am still determined to get my RV720N to run again. I decided to test the brush drive motor with the brush in place. This resulted in the brush not rotating. I just heard a click. I ordered a brush motor assembly on EBAY. Unfortunately after filling down the case it just doesn’t fit. Have you ever run into this. I am waiting for another one to arrive. I noticed the motor is very noisy in the old one as compared to the motor in the one that does’t fit. I believe you said the brush motor is one if the most troublesome problem?

Yes it’s common for people to have the wrong stuff listed. That’s one reason I stopped listing most stuff on eBay people would buy it and it would be for the wrong one or they would talk to someone else on eBay then order from me and be confused because the other person had no idea what they needed. The cases are model specific two or three models will have same parts that’s it

You probably got a 750 motor assembly not a 750n or the opposite.

Great video. I was able to to remove and clean the left wheel; however, the drive motor next to the right wheel does not "just lift right out" as your did. I see a screw hidden just underneath it that I suspect is holding the wheel in, but I cannot get to it until I get that motor out. Any suggestions?

It’s more than likely the two metal prongs underneath the bumper take the screws off the bottom of the bumper it’ll come apart into pieces and then you will be able to see the two little metal prongs one of them might be bent

I have taken mine apart and semi fixed it but it always fails again. It is the plastic gear inside the left wheel. The part that slips onto a metal rod that spins it has worn and will not turn. The rod is circular and the inside of the plastic gear is supposed to be round with a slightly flat side which catches and causes it to spin. With this part being worn the wheel does not spin.
