I think she should find some other uses for her bags. If she doesn't want to divert the focus, she could say "my (fill in the blank person) likes to use these for (fill in the blank with other purposes) because they (insert reasons)." Maybe there are hobbies that would benefit from this storage device. I did a search for "great uses for silicone bags" they mention: "Fill with ice cubes and use as an ice pack or cold compress." "Bring to the pool or beach to protect phones, wallets, and keys from sand and water." I'm sure there are many other valid reasons. Of course, I would recommend that someone who is using it for other purposes, either have nobody in the household using it for it's original intended purpose or to clearly mark which bags are used for which purposes, for safety reasons.

That's investing. Not sure how that works for the shark tho. Lose loss, unless it's a mandate that they have to even if it fails.
@kevindunlap55252 жыл бұрын
Yes, they do. 100% of a net loss, isn't very much money. 75% of a million, IS. Most of these businesses fail on their own. Getting investment and a shark is actually rigging the game, and absolutely proves that it's not what you know it's WHO you know. Find constructive ways to become one of those WHOs.
@FusionDeveloper2 жыл бұрын
@@kevindunlap5525 Okay. That is a good point. So you would want to keep a "Shark" owning at least between 1% to 10% of your company, so that they stay involved. According to the sharks, they mostly are only interested in 15%-33% on average, so it may be difficult. I guess you would have to offer to buy back your percent, with interest, otherwise it would be a like a free loan. I don't really understand how a percent of a business works, but if it is important to the owner, then maybe buy back 1% at a time, when the owner can afford it. Maybe even offer $0.01 per sale royalty for each percent you buy back, that way they still get money. I don't know. I'm just throwing out ideas. I guess the Sharks already know all the options and that I am not coming up with anything they haven't already thought about.

UPDATE: My take is she made a simple math error on that counter at $150K for 12.5%. Not everyone can calculate to exacting valuation while standing in front of the Sharks under pressure of a pending last chance deal. But even if she'd said a more correct offer like $150K for 15% ($1M valuation) I doubt Emma would have gone for it. If she'd said $100K for 20% there may have been a chance. Update sites say the deal DID go through though, I'm seeing that confirmed by several shark tank update sources, so I don't know what others are on about with their "the deal fell through" crap. She's added a bunch of accessory products and is apparently doing $1M in sales yearly now. (Sources: shark tank blog, AI update, shark tank update, etc)

Sharks genuinely aren't the best investors, they're celebrity-investors and there are many more straight investors with more money that are more willing to take a gamble with a crazy evaluation. Plus, it really wouldn't be a good strategy for the sharks to accept high evaluations - they often say "I am worth the equity", but it doesn't mean "I am going to help you a lot", it means "I have a lot of dollars invested in other businesses and I don't want it to look like my ownership isn't an asset".
