Shrapnel injury and ultimately medically retired him. His name is on the display at the Navy SEAL Museum in Ft. Pierce that lists operators. But things are different nowadays. Interesting interview. Having served in the SOF community (Army), I was required to sign a NDF, as I'm sure this gentleman was once he was picked for ST6. I don't know his backstory and whether he faced backlash for his book from ST6 or legal action from the DOD, but most respected the NDF. One interesting thing though, he said he was "picked" for ST6. Knew many a ST6 member and yes, they were selected by their peers. In comparison, units such as Delta require everyone to complete a multi-stage selection program followed by a grueling training program, after which if successful, they are assigned to a Squadron and told "selection is a never ending process". Admire the Seals for what they do and have accomplished, but if you study the two (ST6 and Delta) they are cut from different cloths.

In terms of killing the bad guys, these guys were amazing as is most of the us military. The problem comes when you start nation building. Trying to change thousands of years of Afghanistan culture was impossible. Especially when you have religion mixed in with ideology.

I f****** love you guys all every Navy SEAL every military. I'm wondering if you guys a 100%. I just happened to get in trouble at a young age like a idiot, thanks to I really really traumatic abusive childhood from birth of abandonment being dropped on my grandparents doorstep to I don't even want to go there but anyway had I not gotten in trouble and gotten a felony at the age of 17 years old and had I had people around me that no I could have done the pardon to get into the military then I would have done it but it was too late by that point I was pretty f***** up in the head by that point now but aside from all the mental health s*** I could have been a steal I hate to I'm sorry I'm just I'm tough as Nails I've never lost the street fight or a bar fight and I've been in a lot of bar fights I'm just tough as Nails 6'4 240 lb no fat really except for now I'm 49 years old I'm getting a beer got but I'm not necessarily cut either I'm just thick but not too thick because I'm tall and I grew up on a dairy farm and I'm very strong naturally just gifted in every way when it comes to anything I can do anything I don't know how to say it I'm just that guy I just took the wrong f****** road man and it really pisses me off thanks for letting me vent don't give me s*** people thanks appreciate it

I know what it's like to regret life choices. With my childhood I felt I didn't have a chance at a "normal" life. Was full of regret, and resentments. Drinking, drugging very self destructive. I'm in AA for 2.5years and it's unbelievable! It's giving me a life of freedom! Real freedom! I'm close to God and forever grateful! Just wanted you to know you're not alone in those feelings you were sharing. God bless you!

As said by one of his former fellow teammates of Red Squadron. Rob is the perfect example of a guy who rides the brand and not for the brand. And there is a reason he’s been blacklisted from anything devgru ever again. All the Rob O Neill lovers will come out and sh*t all over this comment but that doesn’t make it any less true. He said f**k the silent code I want the $$$.
@chaosncheckt93562 жыл бұрын
Are you implying the Non-disclosure form is a silent code?
@fazer2152 жыл бұрын
Rob is a fucking retard, like 95% of Seals who write books are.
@DavidLLambertmobile Жыл бұрын
Correct. SpecWar & Navy SEALs dislike him for using his combat, SOF skills to get a big check 🤑. I'd add RO is not the only Navy or Army SOF guy to seek fame & glory but others are smarter, more low key about it.
@waynehearst317 Жыл бұрын
Rob was not the trigger man on the UBL raid, he was the chosen spokesperson. Bissonette was the shooter but didn't have the personality or mouthpiece to promote the story, so NSRO got the tap. Funny how you all just got some real talk in a KZbin comments section. I'll bet Rob would deny it and Matt would confirm it (offline with a beer).

Uhhh....wait a minute....this is a Tier 1 unit....the only criteria to join is...I know this guy, he's a good dude, in shape, and well, keep up in CQB and be funny? Is there a psych eval at least? Or an interview?
@rmk1283 Жыл бұрын
Of course there is... He has stuff about that in his book I'm pretty sure. DJ Shipley mentions it in his Shawn Ryan interview. They have to do a nuts Physical test, Psych evals, panel interview, etc.
@ballislife9834 Жыл бұрын
lmao nah, for devgru, you have to be a vet in a regular seal teams first, done a lot of tours under your belt, well liked by your team for you to be invited for the green team, which is a selection for devgru. obv u do physical test, psych etc.. most important would be CQB stuff.

Its weird how you can bw a true hero and deplorable liar at the same time. Remember he said somebody else shot first. The other seal who shot first had been shooting people.in the face all night. So what did he shoot at and he missed at those ranges? No fucking way
