I actually liked this. Usually the apartments referred to as luxury don't impress me much. I like the double height ceilings and that terrace is crazy

But this is very plain , cheap finish cheap cabinets, cheap plain doors, cheap small closets, ,, it has no class, or too modern looking, .. and not really practical, .. medicine cabinet looks like one from Home Depot just stretched, ,, .. it’s nice area and view but finish and design just look cheap and poor, ..

I live in a 10 foot high apartment - and I can tell you, high ceilings are vastly overrated. The heat goes up where you cannot use it, the dust and cobwebs are hard to be dealt with and changing a lamp or a light bulb - nightmare if you have no pendula lamps ... Yes, it has perks - you can buy high shelves and use the extra height for storage - but how do you get to your things? I like that the room seems to be a bit emptier and lighter - and I like where my apartment is situated (Hanover Germany, not NYC) and the price is worth taking a few hits in convenience. But you should know about the disadvantages before you move into such high rooms. I cannot imagine having double height rooms - how do you get your cobwebs dealt with at 5 m / 16,5 feet??

@@robant5578I completely agree with you. As soon as I saw the medicine cabinet I knew it was just some empty rooms with bare essentials in builder grade. Most expensive thing in that place is the windows.

Im fascinated by the estate agent cleverly dressing in colours that match the appartment. And what seems like expensive fabrics. She both become invisible, so as to not pull attention away from the appartment she is showing, and at the same time reinforces the impression that the place is built with quality materials and no expense is spared. Admire the skills beyond what I imagined her work entails.

I know there are people who love asphalt, shops, glam apartments and above all living in a dynamic city like NY but I am not one of them. I live in an apartment building in the north of Madrid, Spain with a huge landscaped garden and olympic size pool. I pay 1,400$ for a 3 bedroom 3 bath apartment with two parking places included. From my living room window I have a view of a golf course. We are surrounded by parks and have a quick access to a 63km bike/walk pathway. My gym is 15 minutes away by bike. I would not trade any of it for living in the center of a big city.

The full rent is over $5,000/month, and that would be plus building fees and utilities including heat and hot water. All for the privilege of sharing with three other people, and two of you would be sharing a bathroom. Then you have to decide if you should keep the electric shades closed or if you're in good enough shape to show it off to the world. For that kind of money I'd find a nice little place out in the burbs and Uber in to work.

Imagine you are russian or chinese and you make a lot of money. You have to park your money somewhere in a safe space. You buy NYC real estate for 15 million, refinance immediately for 7.5 million and invest that money in US companies and as soon your government tries to kill you, you flee with your family to NY and enjoy your life

Not living in New York, nor having ever been there, I am always amazed by New York's rents and home prices. The numbers blow my mind. This is a beautiful apartment, but yikes! I think I prefer my front and back window views of stucco'd block walls, my mortgage payment of $502 (includes 3.25% interest), and my HOA fee of $145 (which covers exterior painting and two covered parking spaces).

@@rolmaguiland21 LOL. New York seems like it might be fun, but I couldn't afford to live in a closet there. There was an old song from the 1970's that went, "If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with." I'm just really grateful for what I have in my own city. So many in the world have much less.

I live in New York and the prices have gone to full insane mode, even in the borough's. Houses that were 300k are now 1.1 million and small as hell. I don't even understand how. A lot of the people who are able to stay here are in rent controlled properties, which have their own issues. But the housing prices here clearly have only become for the wealthy. You need to be a doctor at this point to afford all these new condo's being built here. A 25 story condo was just built near my apartment. It was the first high rise here in Bensonhurst. The asking price for a 3 bedroom in it is 1.8 million with a forever fee of 1.4k HOA. Don't know who is going to buy it but it'll cost them 13k a month.

@@sulimansyed2444 I don't know where it is all going to end! My impression is that New York is great, but I couldn't afford to live in a garbage can there - let alone anything halfway decent. Crazy! Maybe New Yorkers should move to New York's only truly competitive nemesis, Chicago LOL! Great architecture, food, public transit - at a fraction of the price! As for me, I live in Phoenix, which is rapidly increasing in price. If I hadn't bought here long ago, I'd never be able to afford anything now - and we don't even have the neat stuff that New York and Chicago has!

Cash, I’m grateful to you for taking us places most of us will never see with our own eyes. Having said that I’m disgusted by the sense of elitism real estate developers are fusing into this city’s living spaces. I personally think most folks living in these high-rises in downtown Brooklyn will learn absolutely nothing about the borough itself nor it’s inhabitants. Because you build a building doesn’t mean you are creating community, not, especially if landlords don’t open up those spaces to real working class people.
@freddierodriguez3036
@freddierodriguez3036 Жыл бұрын
So you’re saying the people who live in this building don’t work and wouldn’t have communion with each other and the surrounding businesses? The, “rental vacancy rate of 1.6% from a total of 16,738 units” …”3.1 %” in NYC overall. That said, Real Estate developers are not in the business of loosing money which means that when they build something there’s usually a demand for it.

Honestly, the spacial distribution is horrible. No study, no library, no proper laundry room (with room for drying clothes naturally). Kitchen is relatively small depending on how many people will be living there and if you actually cook (where do you put your recycling bins?). Then I remember: this apartment is not for intellectuals with environmental awareness who cook and clean after themselves. Those people would never make this kind of money.
