@@thomasriddle1325 I don’t think showing a character naked is objectifying them, it is a tool used to show the different approaches with the twins. The character is made to be like the most interesting out of all of them so far and the viewer constantly wants to know more about who he is, so he’s certainly not just thought to be eye candy. And storytelling-wise, with Mae - he’s extremely closed off and distant as that’s likely what she needed from a master, while with Osha - she was trained as a Jedi hating the sith/Jedi killer needs to see him as a human being in order to possibly be corrupted and possibly playing on the fact that she wasn’t allowed to have attachments so likely has never seen a man so vulnerable. If it was a woman sith naked it would be weirder but a man being naked doesn’t feel that weird especially because you can show the entire torso without it being explicit. I think you may be viewing it through the lens of Disney being ultra woke and whatever so everything they do can be interpreted as such. They do some awful storytelling but this is such a non-issue.

And I think the character would still be interesting without getting naked it’s just a scene that conveys information about their dynamic and how he doesn’t fear her and how he’s trying to seduce her to his ideas about the force. I understand that “guy naked = fine while girl naked = not fine” is a double standard I just think there are tons of double standards in film and television I could point out tons of scenes from movies and television including non-Disney Star Wars where if the roles were reversed it would be problematic so it’s kinda weird to pick this one out. And again I don’t think a character being nude is necessarily treating them like a sex object especially when it does actually serve the story. But if every “if the roles were reversed” is hypocritical most film and television throughout history is hypocritical. I’d be happy to talk more about it if you are interested in understanding the perspective I have.
