The Evil Villain #42 angle provides a cool perspective. Giving a 3rd person perspective was enjoyable. I also liked the interview dynamic. As for the bike chain, I guess it wouldn't be a drama if crazy stuff didn't happen. I'll be tuned in next week, for sure. However, I hope you got up-and-running without too much hassle.

Hi Greg, I ended up going through the footage that EV#42 made and I was able to use some of it for the video. I'm hoping that there will be more as we travel together because I agree, it does add a nice perspective. If it's not something, it's another. The chain threw me off-guard because I had changed it fairly recently. I think when I had the last tire change (in Cusco) the mechanic probably set the chain too tight. Oh well, this little mishap leads to something amazing! The next episode is so wonderful - all because of the chain breaking. Thanks for the comment.

Really appreciate our "free" travel on our inter-state system after watching all the border issues you have encountered! I got a laugh out of the guard that teased you guys about the Argentina Soccor team vs US! Cool, actually. And, the "Great Wall"......ok, EV42 has a sense of humor. I did laugh. I guess you are so cold, and getting colder, ' cause you are getting so far south? Winter there? You did mention more gloves for your hands. As a rider, I surely can appreciate the discomfort that comes with riding through cold air. Sucks. But, on the 'bright' side you are getting out of the mountains. What is your elevation where you are now? Obviously, a drastic change of scenery, I do miss the beauty and majesty of the Andes that you have shown. ......chain. Damn. That sucks! You have left us with what they call on TV, a cliffhanger! Anxious to see how the next ordeal is handled.......since you asked about my last response, about my ride. I live 20 miles NW of Nashville. This year, instead of Sturgis, my friends decided to meet and ride at a friends house in St Charles, Mo. So, I took a bit of a long route getting there. There is a river that passes near my hacienda (Cumberland River) and it's about 400m wide at this location. I wanted to see the 'headwaters" so I rode to Harlan, Ky. to see it.(about 300miles) About 20' wide and less than waiste deep where I took my picture. Anyway, the roads I took getting there were state and county roads. The ONLY way to see America! Appalachia is a different place! From there I decided that since I had not been to Cinncinati, Indianapolis and Chicago, this was as good as a time as any. So, I went to Lake Michigan, took a picture and then headed to St Charles. Great ride, no rain, and comfortable ride. Spent a week there in MO., and then back to my home. The ride through southern Missouri was a treat. As my younger friends would say, "chill". No pressure, no hurry, no worries, good road! Not the Andes, but fun! Until next time, Kris, be safe!

Wow, that sounds like a beautiful trip. I have been through the Midwest many times (I used to live there) and I love that entire area (except for the mosquitos). Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky - beautiful country! Of course in Tennessee where you live is beautiful too! I definitely agree about the state and country roads. Way better than the interstate if you want to see the beauty of the area. Yes, the area I am in now is very cold, and as I head south it is getting colder. The winter storms that come up from the Antarctic are pretty fierce at times, but I'm glad I out of the Andes now as they are starting to get colder (yes, it's winter here now). I'm not sure the elevation I am at now, but it's pretty low. There are lots of mesquite/acacia trees around, so it can't be that high up. Thanks for writing! Enjoy your rest now at home.

Some times this is true! But some times it's nice... for a while anyway. Thanks for the comment.

Is this a true story or fiction? 😉 I don’t think you could have made some of this stuff up. What’s the odds of the chain breaking like that!

Totally true. It seems something always comes up. This chain breaking turns out to be a blessing in disguise though! Wait until the next video! Thanks for the comment.
