She looked especially freaked out over seeing what happens to the calves in order to give all the milk to people. Many people have not been aware of dairy being connected to animal violence, me included, we've tended to think that the cows are milked again and again and that's it, and they're not harmed. We don't think about their calves and when we do, we assume that they're raised on formula or something but they're not actually killed or anything. But the male calves are, because the workers of the dairy industry don't know what else to do with the male calves.

Great video Joey. I enjoyed the conversation too. Her reaction was like mine almost 4 years ago after watching Earthlings. I honestly think she will go vegan for the animals. ❤️

I'll never forget the day when I watched Food Inc and Vegucated on Netflix. Funny how those 2 documentaries are no longer available on there. I had to turn each one off before the end as I was shocked, sickened and disgusted at what I was seeing. What's crazy is these weren't even documentaries about slaughterhouses with raw footage that Joey shows. But it showed enough that just shattered my heart. All it took was seeing one pig being stunned, how they fell to floor and shook compulsively on Vegucated. On Food Inc, there was a cow being hoisted up by their legs to be dropped into a machine but I shut that off before even seeing what happened. I will never watch Dominion, Earthlings or Land of Hope and Glory, I don't need to. I saw enough in those 2 films to stop being a contributor to the suffering of animals, FOREVER.

How do activists go about desentitising themselves from the footage? I've wanted to go into activism a bit more but still can hardly bring myself to watch what happens in meat/dairy industry.

The "It taste good" argument fell apart very quickly. Great work Joey! If you are a non vegan watching this just leave your ego aside and accept the immorality of killing animals.

@rudiger891 Because there is no necessity for you to eat animals. The animals in the wild have no other options and in a survival context anything can be justified - humans even eat humans when it comes to life or death. But when you walk into the supermarket, you are not faced with a survival situation, you have a plethora of plant based options to choose therefore the suffering you would cause by purchasing flesh is not from a place of necessity so it can no longer be justified. Wouldn't you agree that it would be much more moral to choose the food options that do not subject animals to slavery and murder when you have the choice to? It's funny we humans claim to be the most intelligent and civilised animal so why do we copy the barbaric actions that happen in nature? Imagine I was in court for committing an act of murder and I told the judge "But your honor, animals kill other animals in nature so why is it problem for me to do the same?"
@zonnovate88094 жыл бұрын
@rudiger891 I understand your situation, I will give my recommendation. I live in a town that is not very big, but not very small however my family comes from a background where they grew up in a small town like yourself. They actually rarely ate animal products as this was seen as a luxury since it would use far more resources to raise an animal than it would take to feed themselves. But let's say plants are harder to get in your town I think it's still important to have perspective and ask yourself what is more important my inconvenience or the life of an animal? Again I empathise that it may be difficult where you are from but I hope that you can empathise with the animals. Please put yourself in their position, if you were about to have your life stolen, a life you would never get back what would you say to Rudiger? I am sure you would beg for your life and tell him/her you can find another food option but I can't find another life. By the way, the reason why I use words like murder and slavery is.... because that is what is happening. If it triggers your emotions when I speak objectively it's really your problem not mine.

@rudiger891 I didn't mean it that way, I too love living in nature! You know veganism is not about being perfect, as long as humans are alive like you said we will always cause some level of suffering (building cities, road, stepping on ants). Veganism is simply a philosophy which seeks to exclude - as far as is possible and practicable - all forms of exploitation and animal cruelty. No where does it say to be perfect but you can only try your best to choose good rather than evil when you know better right? Is there anything other than accessibility holding you back from adopting a vegan lifestyle of justice and fairness?

@rudiger891 yea and why add to that if we don't need to? consuming animal products also causes our bodies harm, as well as the animals lives and the future of our planet

@rudiger891 you just keep doing mental gymnastics trying to justify murder for no good reason, yo are doing nothing good for the wildlife by killing its inhabitants

The fact that many people are ignorant of these practices shows just how messed up the animal exploitation industries are. People deserve to know these things so they can make informed decisions. From experience, many people attempt to justify their actions rather than change (classic cognitive dissonance), but some are able to realize their own hypocrisy right away. My grandparents recently turned vegan after I showed them Earthlings and I'm so proud of them for being honest with themselves

What most people don't understand is that they really don't like the taste of meat and that is why they add plants to give it flavour and make it taste good

All you have to do while shopping is ensuring you buy vegan stuff, and when cooking at home, if you don't have any non vegan items, you have achieved your vegan objective. Think 2 of 3 girls in the video, will turn vegan for sure. The honest girl giving interview is so compassionate, you can see her heart melting while seeing the cruelty videos

Absolutely loved this one! Most of us were all brainwashed as kids to eat animals as food and not give it a second thought but deep down most children shown who they are eating, what happens to them & given a choice would ALL choose for the animal not to die for their 5 minute meal because almost every human is born naturally hating animal abuse and cruelty! It's not until that hidden compassion in the brain is brought to the surface again that people remember they are in fact animal lovers. Whether they are a true good person and do something about it (go Vegan) or they truly are a bad person and decide not too is when we find out who a 'true animal lover' is.....
