This wonderful interview is really meaningful to me because I am a direct witness of outstanding learning path!!. I clearly remember a person that was confused, lost, frustrated, and with no hope because of the low level of her English at that precise moment. Now, after getting through the New Sound Program, I can see like a re-born English speaker. It's really a great pleasure to see a confident, clear and fluent English speaker. For sure, the English nowadays is an active part of her life. I believe that is a huge result personally, but in the long run even more meaningful to all her loved ones. My Dear Alma, all your efforts, passion, determination and hard work have paid off. The most beautiful aspect of this amazing story is that this is only the beginning of an extraordinary adventure!!!. You have all my respect and appreciation as a mother, wife and passionate English speaker!!!. 😍😍😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Yes, Currently, I am dealing with these sentiments :( overall when it is not a tongue language.. even I had my worst experience in an english interview when my interviewer talked me "You do not know to talk english very well, why you are saying it?" I feel dauting and frustrated because I did not have appropiate resources to ask him " I must get up and leave it but I decided to continue" (I think, there are people who take advantage of the vulnerability of individuals".. I appreciate your comments"

Hello Leiag, good afternoon! I could read and understand your comment published in English, at 95%. Alma has a good pronunciation and accent speaking English, I could understand her about 75-80%. I have been learning and practicing on my own, alone most of the time, since my country, for the last 6 years. But my great disadvantage is I don't have someone to practice my level, face to face. But I don't give up so easily for mastering this language. Greetings from Sonora, México 🇲🇽..👍

I am literally crying now because I am breaking through the very same challenge. Every her word resonates so profoundly in my heart. I thought I could speak fluently English but upon arrival to Canada I realized that hardly could I bind two words together. Almost two months of endless shame when I just try to open my mouth 😖Thank you so much for this interview. It’s like a turning point for me now.

Hello everybody, good afternoon! I liked this interview of Hadar with Alma, so much. I recognize that Alma has a good pronunciation in English, and spread vocabulary. I have been listening to this interview in fragments of 10-15: minutes and I have could understand her, about 80%. If I l live in USA, my English level will be advanced in all skills. But I don't give up so easily for mastering this language. Greetings from Sonora, México 🇲🇽.

Haddar! What a great job you are doing... Definitely this format is very interesting, its has been almost one hour interview and just caught me all the time ! It's result to me very dynamic, and didactic! Since everyone who identified as immigrant, could feel every single sentence of this encounter... Hopefully have more and more interviews. Good bless you 💕 Big kiss from an Argentinean girl in Australia 🦘

@19:46 OMG, I have the same mentality but I call it being a perfectionist. I don't care about making mistake but I do care about being perfect, if I cannot do something perfectly in the sense of it is perfect to me because what is perfect to me might not be perfect to someone else then I won't even start. To put this in context a few years ago I applied for a job and the interviewer was really impressed with my skills and knowledge but he told me that the company was now using a new piece of software and I had one week to learn it, and at the end, I had to submit some large dataset using that software. Let me tell you I have never used the software before and it was complicated, I spend the first five days reading the documentation but when it came to using the software for the data I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I decided that if I was going to be able to do it perfectly why even start so, when a week rolled by and the employer emailed asking why I have not submitted as the deadline has passed I replied that my computer was damaged and that I lost work, he apologized and told me that I was not a suitable candidate and there were others who done the work, in truth I didn't start because I have that mentality if I cannot do something perfectly and it doesn't have to be on the first try or the second try, etc then why embarrass yourself by handing in work that is subpar.

@9:05 It is not just people who have been living in the English-speaking country for such a long time that feel that, it is also be who are born in an English-speaking country but still speak with an accent. I know people who were born in an English-speaking country but still speak with an accent, not a strong accent but an accent nevertheless, and boy are they frustrated why? the reason is they believe they should not speak with a foreign accent because they were born in that country.

I came to USA in 1953 ,there was s much racism in Chicago, we didn't have translators, my school teachers ignored me, so it took me a long time to understand comprehension, It was a struggle when at home only spanish is spoken and your trying to learn English, but I decided to learn perfect English so I read the dictionary but I didn't speak Spanish anymore I was 7 years old ,but in 2010 I went to visit my mom in Guadalajara but I'm surprised that they are racist because I had a broken Spanish, I was criticized that I was born in Me xico and have broken Spanish, and if your not a Mexican citizen you can't work, you can't own anything ! you can't have a license, now anybody can come here jump the fence get welfare get free college free medical assistance and they expect every one should understand Spanish they are so so proud which is sad they should be grateful to illegally come here, when Hispanics in the 1940, 1950 we were humble to be in the greatest Nation in the world !! If you don't want to adapt to American life take your native flag and go back to your native country !!!!
