@@FouadAbiad I wonder if it has something to do with constantly using your legs throughout the day. They are used to being worked constantly,so it kinda makes sense that they would respond to high volume.

5:55 this is such a huge lesson I’ve recently learned. I’m 20 and been lifting for 4 years. In this past year I’ve made by far the most progress I’ve ever made, including the first year of newbie gains. Learning to question everything and understand the mechanisms behind things is important but trying things out yourself and being smart enough to understand what comes of that is the real shit. Gets me excited to try out new things and figure out what works and what doesn’t, too. It really is the best of everything I can’t recommend it enough

One of the traits of the 90's bodybuilders that everyone puts on a pedestal is that they all competed more regularly than just once a year for the Olympia. Especially considering that Samsom's biggest room for improvement is in conditioning rather than adding more size ... it totally makes sense for him to do more comps, prep more, have his body get more "used" to getting super shredded and dry. It's only going to help his Olympia chances in my opinion
@Jesse-df9fz

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about in regards to the younger, new generation and the whole high-reps thing that you started out with. I've been seeing a trend lately on instagram where EVERY younger (mostly teenage and early 20s guys) are obsessed with Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates. They don't want to hear anything about high rep ranges and they think the only pure way to get big is to do high weight with a lot of intensity (they usually argue 6-10 rep range kind of like Mentzer would say). If you so much as even hint at suggesting that higher volume is sometimes beneficial they will jump down your throat. I know from experience that there is a good blend of volume and intensity that should be met. They think you HAVE to do like 1 hard set of an exercise and move on and there's no other way. They always throw the word "science" around to back their arguments. Furthermore, the past like 6 months I've been seeing SO many reels on instagram showing Mentzer talking about training and such and the comments are LOADED with these younger guys vehemently defending HIIT-style training and that nothing else works. I know from my own personal experience and from seeing everyone around me in the gym and from listening to all the pros- especially when it comes to legs- that higher reps works. My legs never used to grow when I'd go heavier and do 10 or fewer sets of squats, leg press, etc. I've been doing 20+ reps on all my sets of legs now and my legs have really been growing. Nothing like feeling your quads about to burst out of your pant legs after several 20-rep sets of squats.

I'd be curious to see what Samson looks like doing a vacuum in the abs and thigh, his vacuum is in the front double gives him one of the best front doubles in the open in my opinion. He could do the vacuum and then transition into the side crunch.

Right from the gate with the above lol. I tell people to use high rep sets a lot to really grow areas that they are having trouble with. I do this on legs, shoulders and biceps. Even chest I’ll switch between high reps and lower rep/high weight. My legs have grown a ton since I’ve started throwing in way higher volume.

I’ve always preferred higher reps. I remember when I started Martin berkhan quoted a study with legs responding to higher reps so I’ve always done 15-20 reps the last 2 being close to failure or failure. Idk being a part of the younger generation why anyone would argue with and not take free advice from top bodybuilders in their respective eras. I always love trying new things keep up the great work
