Lume’ deodorant is the best! I use the unscented and my husband uses two of the fragranced ones; both in the solid stick. Every other natural deodorant I had tried gave me a bad rash. I’m rash free with Lume’ and it actually keeps me odor free for 48+ hours! Great stuff! Highly recommend it.

Hi Shea, glad to see Josh’s eye problems are resolved now. As a retired nurse, I must admit I try and treat a lot of things at home, and usually successfully. I also try and use natural products where possible eg use of turmeric powder for minor wounds (even some major wounds for my horses). I’m lucky in most cases I can tell the difference between viral and bacterial infections due to specific symptoms. I also know what research I read is credible and what shouldn’t be classified as credible. I don’t mess with bacterial infections, as not treating correctly quickly can lead to resistance with antibiotics. It can also cause permanent damage. While pink eye (conjunctivitis) can often resolve by itself, untreated correctly it can often lead to permanent damage (which may affect his legality to fly) and I’m not trying to scare monger, but in very rare cases it can develop into sepsis causing eye removal or death. Eyes are one of the few things I never mess with. Always better to treat correctly and quickly. An eye surgeon at the hospital I worked at, used to hate the use of a lot of home remedies as he said they usually caused more harm than good, and often when people thought they had worked, it was just because it was one of those occasions the bodies had naturally overcome the infection. The ONLY natural thing he agreed with (and only if unable to get to a Dr, due to say out of hour time, or lack of immediate appointments) was bathing eyes in cooled black tea. The tannins in tea are a natural astringent calming irritation and removing bacteria from the area. Also it has mild antibiotic properties, similar to the antibiotic used for treatment of eye infections. Even that shouldn’t replace going to see a Dr he said. But could be used to control infections and help cure them until suitable treatment can be found.
@Sara1215935 ай бұрын
I’m a doctor, and I was thinking exactly this when she mentioned the castor oil. Unfortunately a lot of influencers like to tout products as natural remedies to sell things without having read any peer reviewed articles or consulting with any experts. It’s incredibly harmful to others and I can only hope that our pointing this out can help educate others.
@_makeupbyjo5 ай бұрын
As a nurse I second this! I never mess with eye infections always right to the doc office!
@juliemacdonald65725 ай бұрын
@@Sara121593 it’s hard for many people and I do understand their frustration, when they feel Drs just push antibiotics just to get money. Also there is so much so called research out there. I think one of the most important things learned as a nursing student at the start of training was to learn what was classified as a credible source and what wasn’t. My husband is from India and very keen on natural remedies which are popular there. I’m always having to research some new one to ascertain if there is evidence to support its use or not. In most cases, there isn’t verifiable evidence of benefits, but at least it won’t harm. On a few (like the turmeric) I did find a lot of evidence supporting its benefits so used it on a horse that had a major leg wound, where constant exudate was causing further tissue maceration and necrosis. The vet was advising putting to sleep saying the wound wouldn’t heal. I resorted to turmeric in conjunction with some conventional treatment ie daily cleaning with saline, antibiotics etc and got great results (all done in full consultation with the vet). However sometimes the natural treatment is actually dangerous and in some cases can interact badly with conventional medicine for that condition. Eg he was taking a natural treatment for diabetes which is popular in India. Is does help lower blood sugars to a small degree, however when taken with Metformin it can actually drastically increase blood sugars. I’m fortunate, I’m retired due to health reasons. I have a GP and Specialist that are very open and even promote natural treatment in conjunction with conventional treatment to get the best results possible. But they also know I’m well versed on possible side effects to watch out for. Even with my medical knowledge I still often run things by them first in case they have access to studies I haven’t or can’t see. As you know there are many symptoms that can distinguish a viral from a bacterial infection. A lot of people don’t know these symptoms. Even I don’t know some. Some of course you can’t distinguish without testing. I always say to everyone if in doubt with anything, just run it by your Dr. Hopefully with most they will say it’s fine or won’t hurt. But at least you will know it isn’t dangerous.

Dupe for Anifisa lip gloss is the Elf lip oil (called a lip oil, but acts more like a lip gloss), leaves your lips very glossy. Love them and this is coming from someone who HATES lip gloss. I always say, just wear Vaseline x10 cheaper. But i swear if you have dry lips the Elf as well as the NYX lip oils are a game changer. NYX lip oil is a lot more sticky but great for chronically dry lips because it keeps your lips hydrated for a very long time. The Elf lip oil is more like a gloss, why the product is on your lips, it keeps it very hydrated but it doesn’t last as long as the NYX lip oil.

I agree with Shey a bit in the earbuds topic… but… she doesnt take into account that people use the earbuds with their cellphones, and cellphone brands took out the earjack from phones, to make you buy their earbuds. And unfortunately, now you can only use earbuds with cellphones. Another thing… Instead of packing cubes, I use the TONS of plastic bags that I have because a lot brands, specially fitness brands, use them now adays. Shein, Buffbunny, Alphalete, Ptula… it saddens me everytime I buy something and I get another plastic bag. I went on a big vacation last year and those bags worked as perfect as the aesthetic amazon ones… 7 night cruise and 5 days in Universal Studios/Island of Adventure & Disney and thats what I used. One for dresses, one for leggings, one for shirts, one for bras and another for socks and panties. And 2 of the bigger ones for dirty clothes. Dont spend money on packing cubes if you have those plastic bags.
