Slight correction. Only Some gold is lost on death. Its percentage based but luckily not a large percentage. Encurages you to actually spend it which is nice

It is so sad that Salt and Sacrifice wasn't as good as this one, Salt and Sanctuary is soooo good

I have played the sequel in coop and ya it just doesn't feel the same. Less souls like in terms of world design and more based around farming bosses to try all the weapons it seems.

@@SheenShots The world building and lore is way more interesting in salt and sanctuary, took me a few weeks to finish my first game of sanctuary. Sacrifice took me 2 years to finally want to finish it, was still disappointed. Still fun just not as much as the first and challenge runs doesn't have the same feel in sacrifice than sanctuary.

I played S&S2 at launch and beat it and it's definitely lacking a lot of what made 1 so great. But I also recently replayed it after some major updates and it feels better now. Unfortunately there's a lot of Online stuff that's basically impossible to get now since the community is pretty dead. At last on PS4.

In S&S2, they tried to hard to expand the model. Chasing roaming sub bosses down for mats and having a hub kinda felt like a step back... strangely enough. Usually additions like that are welcomed and work but it really just didn't in S&S2. Moving forward I do think they need to take a step back and focus on the expansive world, enemies and lore rather then adding loads of new stuff to the current model. Or at the very least, refine it, maybe with a day/night secret boss system rather then roming bosses. Could be more effective Imo.

@@thereaversden6847 indeed the hub killed a lot of interest from, like ds1 salt and sanctuary was interesting because everything was interconnected, salt and sacrifice killed that feeling of exploration. It merely felt like a platforming game with monster hunter farming, good but not as good as salt and sanctuary is (and now with the randomizer I am getting my ass kicked once more)

I've beaten this game probably like 20 times, and I had no idea you could get to the Floating Castle from the Castle of Storms. I always just took the section between the Dome and Red Hall. LMAO

I only knew it was there because there is a feint glow on the online map to point it out lol.

My experience with that specific challenge was way easier, I went with wisdom buff which gave me roughly double damage to most bosses, even resistant bosses I dealt at least 25% more damage per arrow. All wooden arrow no fire or poison arrow for me. Also I've got the bow from the archers before the parrot boss, if I recall correctly base damage is better than your bow, scaling might be better too. Fun vid to see, watching someone who doesn't know as much as I or Backlogs about the game was interesting and entertaining.

This was my first playthrough solo and it definitely could have been way easier. Mainly I could have avoided some backtracking but the size of this game makes backtracking very painless which is nice.

@@SheenShots backtracking isn't bad at worst you go from left to right since the map is kinda weird because lore reason. My experience was easier since it was my third or fourth "insert weapon type" only challenge. Dagger is a fun one, quite balanced since you have no range but awesome damage potential, lance and scythe are fun too since they have good combos to play around. Anyway was the second vid youtube showed me from you and that one got my sub, the presentation is humble and describe your experience greatly, I liked it a lot. Reminded me of Lemon from Backlogs^^

Sheen if you spam buttons mainly R1 L1 you will tear the slime to pieces and get faster out of the grab works for all grabs

15:37 I think you do lose gold but not a lot. The person reviving you and bringing your body back to a sanctuary takes a cut.

Yes if I remember you lose some amount for being brought back to a sanctuary. This matters more early on but later you have so much gold its barely a thought which is nice.

it feels like the aegis greatbow was a better weapon for this run than the vilehawk bow, is there any reason u did not pick it up

This was my first solo run of the game, leaving me a bit unfamiliar with how easy it would be to transmute the weapons. As long as you can get your hands on an amber idol that bow looks to be a bit stronger. The only bow to not use would be the class 5 since it is only available at the very end of the game. Bows are still weird though as their max damage is only slightly higher per class. In theory, you could probably stick with the very first bow and see similar results.
