There's always that one person who never shows up to board game night... Doesn't matter if the tabletop session is gonna be area control, euros, ameritrash, or even if the game is heavy or light; this person either shows up late, or won't show up at all. That, or they're unavailable, and even after all that if they show up through sheer good luck, they're on their phone during the board game! Talk about downtime between turns...

I had a friend that would always leave in the middle of games. I started posting in the invites that if you can't stay to the end then don't come. It worked. He stopped coming. No regrets

Easily my least favorite stereotype, especially the people who say "maybe.. well, who are you inviting?" It's much better to have friends who don't treat you as a last resort for plans.

The former friend that I mentioned in my previous comment not only mysteriously disappeared in the middle of a game but once took the cards he had in his hand with him, thus not allowing the game to continue.

Perhaps you can consider the 'wrecker'. This is the person who bends the cards, loses the small parts, breaks anything breakable, spills fizzy pop on the board, and generally raises the blood pressure of the owner of the game.

Flakey friend went from the villain to being sympathetic in the last section lol. So many gamers just want warm bodies to sit through the rules explanation to what they just picked up that week. And then you hardly ever get a game to the table enough times to enjoy the strategy and the worst of all is when they retire a game after you beat them for the first time lol. I hope the story continues

Can you do an episode about the diy-guy? The one who always crafts stuff for his games. I am that kind of gamer and everyone of my games has a self made insert for example and i always build stuff like dice towers or play mats and stuff like that. Anyway, love your videos, keep up the good work :)

Had a friend that was super consistent until a few months ago and then started being flaky, so I stopped inviting him. Just a couple of week ago he asked me to come and play, I said sure and he didn't show. It also happened to be on my birthday and I was really pissed because I wanted to play a 6 player game that can only work with at least 6 but is better with more people. Suffice to say I told him to never talk to me again. Just some context, he has no job, lives at home and doesn't have many other friends. So I don't know why he became so flaky. But with him gone I had two other people start showing up again because they disliked the guy so much and just didn't want to say anything to me or him about it.

I have a suggestion for the future: I know this might not be common, but maybe a “person who wants to play games that look cool, has lot of components, & has a lot of good reviews but have a hard time understanding them because they’re complex.” I was like this with Compounded, I needed someone to do some stuff for me.
