Fort Walton Beach can be found between Destin and Navarre Beach and is known for its white-powdery beaches and emerald waters. Temperatures range from the 20s and 30s in the winter to over 90 degrees in the summer; yet many people call it home, while thousands of others visit on a daily basis. Being a coastal community a lot of activities center around the water, however, there are other activities and they range from shopping to simply absorbing the sun's rays on the beach. Lodging comes in many forms and visitors have their pick from condos to resorts. Dining consists of everything from Mexican to fresh Gulf seafood.
Whether you are moving to Fort Walton Beach or are just wanting to shell the softest beaches around, shelling in Fort Walton Beach can have it's ups and down, however, the beauty is unsurpassed.

Real beauties! I sure miss finding sand dollars & sharks teeth. Carolina Beach, NC was so loaded with sharks teeth, that we hardly ever looked up. You could find them even in parking lots in Wilmington just because they had sand in them. Most of them were black or gray & we have one the size of a triangular corn chip from a great white. The ocean is a Mother Nature's treasure chest. As Jimmy Buffet says " Mother Ocean, I have heard your call." Peace, Love & Aloha in the waves.

The best time to go is always whenever you're able. I have found shells all hours of the day. Happy shelling.

Hi Sandra , thanks for watching. I've shelled all across Florida and learned that shelling varies from day-to-day and is weather dependant as well. One day you'll find lots of shells, then for several days hardly anything. Instead of looking for "spots", it's more important to learn where to look, shell ID, and how to read the beach.
