Thanks for letting Jonah share his story. I watch his videos for a chance to see what can be found down under. He seems like a super nice guy & gives lots of shells away & has really rocky beaches to contend with & has shown us many cool critters from his part of the world like sea hares & a blue octupus which was awesome. I of course love your videos, you were the first shelling videos I found & I love your soothing upbeat voice, your sense of humor & how well you have taught us about shells & sea creatures & all things " beachy goodness" thank you!!!

They're all over Honeymoon and blooming up a storm. Happy to see Sanibel has them too! That was a huge pile! Love roseates too! Wow! Some beautiful flats! The baby turtle was darling!😊❣️👍 Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo

I love your videos. I live in South Africa, I have Fibromyalgia, cluster headaches, and Neuralgia. I spent 4 day out a week in bed in so much pain I could not move. Your videos are what kept me sane and helped me through. I am so blessed as 6 months ago. My husband and I moved to the south coast. To say my health has improved 80 percent is a understatement. I walk klm now, where I could not walk 3feet. I am now collecting my own shells. Thank you so much for keeping me from drowning. You will never know what your videos did for me. 🤗 I would love to show you some of my shells I have collected, just not sure how to.

I would be in shell heaven in that shell pile!!! I’d be digging to China in that shell pile grabbing all I could 🤗 The flat scallop looks like a fan!!! I love them!!! I would pass out from excitement if I found the shells you find love! The cute kitten paws, the lightening welks, all the unique shells you find. When we go to Flagler beach all I find are the same type of shell. Nothing as exciting as what you find love ❤️

Oh Sanibel, I love it! I’ve been thru that path by Silver Key and lol it can be a hiding place for those bloodsuckers. Seaglass? What?!? How cool was that! You really found some awesome flats too, such pretty colors on them. What a precious sight to see that little turtle, much luck to that critter. I also follow shellcade, it’s so interesting to see the difference in the shells and the beach he shells at compared to Florida’s. A totally different terrain and I think it’s very interesting! Thanks for the beach time and hope you had a wonderful weekend!

well that was certainly special seeing those turtles. You always get such nice little hauls and your friend in Australia, wow some beauties there, Im happy he has his shell hobby now, sounds very theraputic for him. It was funny cause not even a minuite before you said it I was going to ask about alligators and mosquitoes so I got a little charge out of that. I am starting look for my favorite shells now as you scan the beach, My fav shell is the Lace Murex and the spiney jewel boxes, also have a soft spot for the Lightning Welks, Calico clams, and florida conchs the heavy purple ones, Love the really dark ones, love to see them alive with their little eyes, never saw that before I saw with you, really enjoying this! Loved seeing your walk today. The amount of shells on that beach is amazing! I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas, and we don't have that kind of volume of shells unless you drive all the way down to Little Shell or Big Shell. I'm amazed at the beautiful shells you can find so easily. I want to visit these places just to collect them. :-) We do have an abundance of the Roseate Spoonbills. We live near the Laguna Madre and there are tons of birds...It was so exciting that you got to see a baby turtle heading the water on its own. Here, they collect the eggs and do releases. It is so amazing how they are....She will come back t that exact spot when she wants to lay her eggs... Thanks so much for sharing. Donna

Florida has the largest variety of shells in the US, and I think SWFL has the best concentration of them. There are so many amazing creatures out there! That baby turtle was absolutely incredible. The researchers down here let Mother Nature do her thing - with a little help by marking and protecting the nests. I always wondered how they knew how many turtles hatched - they count the left over eggs of course! I wish I was able to get a better shot of those spoonbills - they are so interesting!! Thank you so much for watching!

Hi my beach friend, What a lovely walk on the beach and between the mangrove trees. Those purple flower fields are gorgeous. But the shells and the sea glass are stunning! Such a lovely finds! And that tiny beach turtle.....😍 You fall instantly in love when you see that little critter making its way to the sea. ❤ This week I'm on holiday on a Dutch Isle called Texel. Tomorrow I'm going to rent a electric beach wheelchair to get on the beach, to the sea and the shells. I'm looking forward to it! Really hope to find some goodies. The shells will not be near as gorgeous a yours, but I'll be happy with any beautiful shell. So, fingers crossed! Wishing you a beautiful week, filled with sunshine and gorgeous shells! Big hug from the Netherlands ❤

Fantastic haul! Love the flats. OMG I’ve never found a whole one. The sea glass was a great find. I love Jonah’s Shellcade channel. I never miss his videos. The baby turtle was so cute. I once came home from work when I was living close to the beach and found a baby turtle in the parking lot. It was in the middle of a thunderstorm. I scooped him up and ran down to the beach and put him/her in the water. 🤣Hope she made it! 🤗🐚🐚🐚🐚

You are a gem for saving that little turtle, or at least giving it a good chance! I wonder if lights confused the little critter. Pretty crazy to find one in a PARKING LOT! I was also thinking that there are so many things that would eat those little turtles, so it's probably best they make their way into the ocean at night. Much safer for them ❤️

SWF beach life can I give you a tip while I was at my Sanibel trip the best beach I was at was the light house tips for that beach get their VERY early and get your scooper and aim for orange wear the little hill is in the water that leads to the beach it’s only at least a few inches deep of a drop it was my best strategy they have lots of banded tulips fighting conchs and a few true tulips and LOTS of hinged disc dosinias on shore and LOTS more stuff you don’t really find in Pensacola and Navarre are btw you are sooooooooo lucky to live in Sanibel love your videos

Another great video❤️ On August 31 on my birthday went out to Monterey California to the beache to do some shelling to see what kind of shells I can fine. we have nothing like what you have in Florida and nothing like what Jonah has in Australia. But I sure enjoyed the scenery and the time out there. Maybe one day I will be able to find some beautiful shells 🐚 🐚🐚

So amazing to see a baby turtle! 😍🐢 I went to our local beach in Exmouth in Devon UK on Saturday and found a couple of tiny sunray Venus shells. Thanks to you I knew what they were! I am inspired by you to do more shelling. Sadly the beaches here are not as gorgeous as Florida, but on a sunny day they are pretty good 😁

In my most recent upload I show why winter shelling is better than summer shelling. The trade off is there are no people down here in the summer, but it's harder to find shells. Winter shelling is great, but there are many more people to contend with. January is a little chilly, but the shells!!!! 🐚🐚🐚

That beach has so many clams there must be a bunch of them living on the ocean. Thank you for the virtual experience this really means to me, because i can't even go outdoors. I really hope this pandemic ends. (Off Topic Question) What is the Holes i find in seashells? They are perfect circles sometimes only one and sometimes many.
@SWFBeachLife3 жыл бұрын
If there are a whole bunch of tiny holes, that was probably made by a boring sponge. If it's more of like a jewelry hole, that was made by another snail! I used to wonder about that myself and turns out some snails, like the moon snail or oyster drill (hence the name) drill into the shells of other snails to try to eat them! I mention this from time to time in different videos - it's fascinating. I hope you can get out safely soon beach friend!

I’m just reading to find out if we get lightening whelks here in west Australia, Perth and it says right handed ones are very uncommon n rare…do you have any of those hun? The article talks of one found from Estero Bay that was about 9 inches in size, world record size is 16 inches from Clarrabelle . I’d assume we may not get these types of shells/critters along our coast in Perth . I soooo love lil baby turtles too, how adorable 💙💙💙💙💙

I had to travel a bit north, but yes we have looked for shark's teeth too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmXbaHqvgN51oMk I WISH I would come across lightning rocks.
