This scene is essentially Chapter 18 of the Sherlock Holmes Blu-Ray disk - I in no way own the rights of this scene nor the mention of the film, it is Copyrighted to Director Guy Ritchie and his associates from Silver Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures as well as Warner Brothers® 2009. This is simply for the pleasure of the KZbin audience and for viewing purposes solely - I in no way encourage the illegal distribution/copy of this scene or the movie itself. If this video is taken down, then I apologize for the inconvenience.
The scene shows the arrival of the U.S. Ambassador Standish to the Temple of the Four Orders secretive meeting in a Londond museum - where he is detailed the true, sinister ambitions of his colleagues. Blackwood greets him and eventually offers him a high status in the "new world order" that he so firmly declines to accept (noting that the country he represents would fall under control of this new regime). Seeing that no one else would stand up against Blackwood - Standish attempts to stop the madman by brandishing his own gun (that has been rigged prior) and shows no hesistation when firing the shot. Blackwood warns him otherwise, but Standish's true fate is shown when the spark from the rigged bullet ignites his vestiment that had been dampened by the rain. He then, in the midst of the flames that burn his body, he obliviously bashes through the 5-story window and falls to his death into the same horse carriage that brought him there. In fear, we then see all the members drink "their allegiance" (essentially an antidote to combat the effects of Cyanide) surrounding Blackwood. Hope you enjoy the scene!

Depends. The imporant part is that you have a compound in your body that, while not damiging to the organism, are more eager to react with the poison than the poison is with your body whithout creating another poisonous substance. So if the antitude was a chemical compound that remeained in the body for a longer time it would still be effective as the airboumd cyanide derevation was entering thr bloodstream through the lungs.

Well it was actually raining outside. So once the liquid hit the ground, it would’ve mixed with the rainwater and likely have been diluted. Plus only the area around the front door was being doused in said liquid, and we aren’t sure where exactly his carriage was in reference to it.

True. But the plan was not to conquer it by force, but through order. If Strandish, an abassador of the U.S, were to join him. Blackwood would be able to infiltrate the White House through him and starts gaining follower from inside out. Once he have enough member in the U.S government, all he has to do is appears there and perform some tricks to show how powerful his "magic" is. Especially since he would have already become well-known should the poison in the parliament goes off.
@sorryifoldcomment8596

I'm 99% sure that's why Standish finally went against him...He was the American Ambassador and knew better than any of them what "retaking" America would require. Blackwood would ruin them trying to attack America and he knew it. _(His face when listening Blackwood go on about how weak America is just screams "omg you cannot be trusted to make foreign policy decisions" lol.)_ Doesn't matter how weak America was (and it was *very* weak, Blackwood was correct; we were in no place to fight another war at that time). America still had geography on our side...and that's why even in modern day, with modern technology, it's still easier to hijack a local plane then try to attack the US mainland from across the ocean. RIP Standish 😂

I bet if Mark Strong could play Lord Blackwood, in my opinion I think he would be the perfect role for Abdul Gasazi. Anybody who agrees with me?

I’m sorry Blackwood but what you said about the United States is the opposite and no way you’re going to ever take them in their state 😂

although, that's the point, i've bin thinking, how did blackwood know that standish would be the one to go against him? and how did he know that standish would use a gun as well? :D

Blackwood said he wanted to conquer the US, and Standish was the American ambassador to Britain, so he would naturally object. As for the gun, well... America
