One / some of Shimano's shifters used to have some kind of adjustment for the pull of the cable I think. I'm not sure how to phrase it correctly using the technical terminology, but my wife is petite and has small hands and thus has a really hard time shifting from the small to the large front chainring using 105 / 5800 shifters. (This is not as big of a problem on the right side... since the jumps from cog to cog on the rear cassette aren't as big as the jump from the 35 to the 50 tooth on the crankset.) I thought I remember reading about some kind of shims or something in the past that helped with this. But maybe that was just for the reach as well. Aside from switching to a Di2 set up--which we've discussed--any other suggestions?

Thanks for this video. Worked a treat on my right hand lever, however on the left hand side the screw just kept turning (doesn't stop) and the lever didn't come in (or out). Any ideas?

I have the same issue, I think the screw is simply too short to actually work properly, so maybe finding a longer screw would be a solution? Haven't tried it though.

How about the 10 speed 105...caliper brake..

My left hand lever is really heavy to shift the front derailer - it runs free when FD is connected.
