In Deck Nine's True Colors, the latest in the long running and highly acclaimed 'Life is Strange' series, you take on the role of new protagonist: Alex Chen. Set amongst the beauty of the Colorado mountains in the picturesque town of Haven Springs it's your job to guide Alex as she explores the town, discovers its secrets and solves its mysteries.
Armed with incredible empathic powers that let her experience and affect the emotions of those around her, when tragedy strikes it's up to Alex use her gift to find the truth behind her brother's death. It's a game about empathy, human connection and finding your place and I loved having the opportunity to explore those themes in song.

I took a small team up into the mountains of Eryri to shoot this video over two intermittently rainy days. (And nights!) It wasn't quite Colorado but it was still incredibly beautiful so hopefully we got close enough. Also we just stumbled upon a waterfall entirely unplanned and pivoted the entire shoot to make use of it. Was I gonna NOT use a waterfall?
It was, without a doubt the most exhausting and difficult video I've ever had to shoot but also the most rewarding and I'm so happy with the results. Thank you to every person who helped this project become a reality and to my loyal patrons for supporting me in doing so too!

The basic meaning of just the words "Shine Through" is something Shining, like a light, through something. Maybe like the sun "Shines Through" clouds. In this song (and the game) emotions/feelings are shown as colours of light that "Shine", which also means that we should let our emotions "Shine Through" (let other people know how we feel) Then there is also that part of the song says we should *TRY* to let the light shine through, meaning sometimes it is not (the light is blocked, again like the clouds block the sun maybe) so we should let the light shine through. Hope that helps, and if I got some stuff wrong feel free to correct me.

So, I know I am late to replying to this video, and i know it will probably be overlooked and ignored, But I have been listening to his music for years now. The thing is, I honestly deal with bad depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Almost 1 month after leaving a heavily abusive household, he released this song. It has been a long time dealing with a lot, and pain I can't even explain. However, whenever I hear this song in particular, I tear up a bit. It changes my headspace, even if it is temporarily. It teaches me that its okay to choose who is really my family. That life does get better. And I relate to this song so much. this song has helped me SO much the past 8 or so months. Thank you for writing such a beautiful song, Stupendium. I never felt needed to comment until now, but seriously, thank you so much for this. There is no telling where i would be emotionally and mentally if it wasn't for this song.... Thank you so much. It has been helping me get through so much, you have no idea.

Every single time i come back i end up being nothing short of MONOLITHICALLY BLOWN AWAY! There are dozens of comments commending you for the emotion, precise thought and personal influence in this song and it's all completely damn deserved. I was previously going to commend on Rift apart because it was exceptional as well, but decided to leave my comments at the door in favor of, you know, allowing the artist to read new responses. But it's exceptional. The fact you're able to make these amazing songs and craft masterful stories to weave alongside them. It's something you simply do not see in this day and age all to often. I'm completely in awe friend. I just got off of a ten hour shift and found this in my recommended today. I was crying tears of genuine joy when I heard it. Thank you for making such incredible, masterwork music, with such deep and profound values alongside them. It means the world to many more people then I'd imagine we're able to understand. Everyone is already talking about the amazing visual and the even more amazing lyrics. But for this second point one thing that IMO isn't mentioned enough is how many of the lines also directly reference not just themes of the games, but actual plot points/concrete background infos about characters to the point where some lines could be seen as spoilers if you know what you are looking for.

I lost my mom in April, (my father had already been gone for 9 years), and she was the last close (organic) family that I had. This song is just filled with lyrics that are moving, and that send such a beautiful message out to the world: "You are not alone." My other friend who lost his mom last Christmas (and who also lost his father years before, and who's sisters are trying to sell the house he has lived in his entire life out from under him and leave him destitute) and I both really like the line "family trees need not be organic, the branches you've grafted are equally valid." Ever since my mom died I have felt sort of just lost and rudderless, and I really like the last part, where he says, "Everything fades, everyone's song ends, but how we crescendo is not as important as all of the harmonies we left in our friends." There's a lot of emotional wisdom in this song, and I'm sure almost everyone who hears it can find solace and healing in it's lyrics! Great work, Stupendium! Also, I live in Colorado, near the mountains, and while there are some noticeable differences between the mountains here, and the Welsh mountains in the video, the mountains in the video look beautiful, and it makes me want to visit Wales someday to see them!!

@@joe_rival rgb (red green blue) are the basic colors that you with values of 0-255 ( 8bit) can create about 7 mil colors. cmyk is very similar but instead of being something that your pc uses, it's something that your printer uses. c-cyan, m-magenta, y-yellow, k-black there's also hsv and few more, all were created in different times and all have different uses

I've been following this game since the initial announcement, and of course clicked straight away, but this video really made me cry.
