All SHINee members are talented but have to say Onew’s Circle album is amazing. It’s a no skip album. Hope you do a reaction on the rest of the songs. His voice is my favorite in K-pop. His tone is so rich, warm & unique. Just love it. ❤

In one of Onew's behind the scenes videos he explained his "O (Circle)" MV is depicting the different stages of a person's heart. The "Children's Park" -- or, as I like to think of it, the set of a children's TV show -- is supposed to represent the happy, playful child's heart. The peach tent area that we see him sitting in is supposed to represent the inside of a whale's stomach, depicting the story of his previous B-side song "In The Whale," which is a song he wrote for fans and is on his previous Dice album. And the dark grey set is supposed to be a mature adult's heart, depicting what a person has to go through in order to reach adulthood, etc. The album and song is called "Circle" because it represents the circle of life and how everything is connected. Onew is a member of SHINee, so of course he is an amazing singer and performer. That's why the members of SHINee are some of the most well respected singers and artists, and why they are one of the top groups in the industry. SHINee are the golden standard. It's literally known as the SHINee standard, and it's what all other groups strive to reach. Onew is considered one of the premiere vocalists in the industry who is known for being the male vocalist with the most consistent vocals. He is one of the male vocalists that vocal coaches use as an example of what people should try to emulate in order to become a great singer. He has been one of SHINee's main vocalists since debut and he is recognized as one of the top vocalists in Kpop since even before debut. Onew was only one of two people ever personally cast by Lee SooMan, the founder of SM, and he was chosen at age 16 for his outstanding vocal ability. Onew's vocals are so good that as a rookie he was even a vocal coach and mentor to a lot of SM's trainees, including several member of EXO.

Yes!! And why were you surprised by Onew’s vocals?? They’re always other-worldly and lush 😍😍😍 you can make a choir of great vocalists and his voice will be immediately stand out. Btw the ambivalence is the ENTIRE message of the song! It’s called Circle to highlight the ambivalence of the circle of life.

Glad you enjoyed these Onew’s album is so far this year is my favorite solo album and in my top 3 overall releases overall. I was shocked when I heard the song for the first time because I didn’t expect it to be that way and the mv along with it added to the experience such a beautiful release. The rest of the album is amazing too I highly recommend to everyone; with the title track being about the cycle of life and all seasons; the rest of the album are arranged by seasons based on the vibes and type of songs and there’s so much thought behind the album it’s so pretty. The entire album isn’t a ballad by the way the spring and summer songs are more upbeat and brighter yet very cohesive with the rest of the album

Fun fact: Notice how the sign outside the bar/the name of the bar in Minho's "Chase" MV says, "The last piece of the puzzle" referring to the fact that Minho was the last of the SHINee members to have a solo debut and that his album completes Jonghyun's legacy of making all the members solo debut album titles rhyme -- Taemin Ace, Jonghyun Base, Key Face, Onew Voice and now Minho Chase. (This has also made SHINee the first SM group to have all their members debut solo -- it only took a little more than 14 years, but SHINee still managed to pull off being the first. LOL) As one of the top actors in Korea starting in 2011, over the years Minho has developed an eye for storytelling. Plus, in college he majored in filmmaking and acting. Therefore, he had a specific vision for what he wanted the story and message to be in this MV. After being sent several drafts of the MV by the director, Minho went to the editing studio himself and actually directed the storyline the way he envisioned the story. So everything you see was designed by him. He even made the decision to not include choreography in the MV in order to make the story more cinematic. As I see it, the MV is about being chased and sort of haunted by the memory of his past love. The girl broke up with him (or died) and he keeps chasing after the memories of her and the good times when they were in love. He keeps going to the bar where he has good memories of her and he gets beat up because he is disturbing people, as you see him walk up to that couple in the bar thinking the girl was his past lover. The guys who are beating him up are trying to prevent him from coming back or entering the bar, but he won't stop, so they have to use force. In the beginning you see Minho and the girl lying on the bed, but if you notice Minho is staring at the girl but the girl is looking into the camera, which is over his shoulder. I see this as symbolizing how, even though it might look like things are OK and Minho might feel like they are still in love, the girl has already checked out of the relationship and she already has one foot out the door. The relationship was long over at that point. So Minho is struggling to accept what happened. He was still in love when she had fallen out of love. I'm not really sure that he was in a car accident or that she really died in the accident. I sort of see it as a metaphor about how their relationship came crashing to an end from Minho's perspective, and it symbolizes the death of their love, etc. Which is why we see that the scene where he runs after the girl right after the car accident is in reverse and everything is being rewound. The car accident could be a literal car accident, but I see it as more likely representing his emotional state. At the end, my interpretation is that he shot the memories that have kept him stuck in the perpetual loop, he wasn't killing himself but trying to stop the memories of her from consuming his life. With everything that SHINee has been through, Minho's storyline would have never depicted any form of suicide. Now you need to watch the performance video, his dance practice video or a live comeback stage to see the choreography for this song. Because even though there is no dancing in the MV, Minho has some very cool choreography to go with the song.

When killer was released I knew you would enjoy it and fun fact this was the original main title track instead of gasoline but he made it a repack because he didn’t want similar vibes back to back with bad love and this Minho does like this lowkey chill vibes type of songs but he said in his upcoming album it will be more upbeat; he felt what he feels comfortable with the most is most fitting for debut album Onew’s album and the title track took me by surprise this year like I knew I would like his album anyway and his last year album was from my favorite solo releases last year but this album just blew me away with how well thought it is and how cohesive it was and the just like how he mentioned and intended for the album to reflect the seasons it did feel like that while listening to it. Yeah I felt the same too Circle feel both uplifting and hopeful yet has sadness to it. In his albums he also focus on his vocals and the vocals in this album are just heavenly even the acoustic song in the album with simple melody made me feel so emotional because how pretty he sounded

When Onew first talked about Circle, he described it as a song that SM typically doesn't put out (so, not a typical K-pop song). And it's true - of course it's partly his seniority, but it's also proof of how much the company trusted him to take on this challenge. And yeah, you should definitely check out the other songs from the Circle album. He actually performed many of them in his recent "O-New-Note" concert, and if you search for that, you'll find a lot of clips. (Expectations and No Parachute are great.)

These three comebacks honestly blew my mind!!! How is it possible that all SHINee members are so talented and are always improving even after almost 15 years of career!?!?!? 😱💖 The three albums are VERY worth listening to, I strongly recommend Waterfall (Minho), Easy (KEY) and Anywhere (Onew)!!! I'm so excited for the full group comeback and Taemin's upcoming solo work, especially after seeing what the other members have been working on recently!!! 💎✨

Everything you see and hear with "Killer" has Key's signature stamp on it. It's his title track from his repackaged album, which is a follow up to his previous "Gasoline" MV and album. And you're right, there is a lot more to the story. To understand more of the story you have to connect things from his other MVs, such as "Gasoline", "Bad Love" and "Hate That ...", etc. From his outfits to the backup dancers looks, to the set design and story concept, as well as the song lyrics, and the whole album -- including the album packaging -- was designed or chosen by him. Key is involved in the entire creative process when it comes to his solo work and everything you see and hear is what he envisioned for this entire album/repackage concept. Every aspect is all part of his design. Key said his style is more like retro '80s/'90s MTV, so that's the treatment they used to come up with his solo concepts and styles. So far, the retro aesthetic is the look and feel he has had for all of his solo MVs and albums. And he has only dove in deeper with the retro concept after he came back from the military. Even all the merchandise and album packaging that was designed to look like vintage toys and games, etc. were all conceptualized by him. I mean Key lives in the world of vintage-cool. He knows how to take a style and concept and own it. Since gaining artistic control of his solo releases with his "Bad Love" album, he has been building a whole world based on retro sci-fi TV shows/movies and comics, etc. Therefore, at least his solo storyline could very well be connected between his MVs. When it comes to Key's solo stuff, you never have to question who was the stylist because I guarantee that it will always be him. Key is our fashionista of the group, who is SHINee's designer for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. He has even been given the official title as SM's Director of Fashion, and he is often consulted on fashion trends when it comes to SM projects. He has gained a reputation for his fashion, so he is involved in all aspects of the styling for everything he does these days. And because Key was involved in creating the storyline for his MV, he was also involved in the whole look and feel, including clothing choices and costume design. I can see how you might think Key is harkening back to Michael Jackson with his "Thriller" reference and the one glove, etc. However, I don't think the one glove, etc. has any real symbolic significance beyond the fact that it was a style choice that Key made because he is always on trend, if not one step ahead, with everything he does. I'm sure the main reason he made the choices he did was because he thought it looked cool and went well with the aesthetic of the outfits he was wearing, as well as fit within the retro style of the whole project. (Wearing one glove doesn't always have to mean that that person is trying to be like MJ, Michael just started a fashion trend that happens to still be cool today.) And although Key's outfit may look a little like something Taemin wore, I guarantee that because its Key he is not copying Taemin's style or trying to look like Taemin. Key is uniquely himself and has made it clear that he wants to do his own thing and not copy or follow anyone else. Taemin is Taemin and Key is Key. The reason why they look similar I think is because they are members of SHINee, which are known as the trendsetters of Kpop, so when it comes to fashion they know how to take a trend and make it stand out. When people say, "there is no one or nothing out there like it," they are right. Key is 100% that artist. A legend on par with Taemin's legendary concepts and styles. No wonder they are both members of SHINee. As you are starting to discover, SHINee are known for having some of the best singers in all of Kpop. If you were to listen to Key singing a cappella while performing this intense choreograph for "Killer", he would sound just as flawless as in the MV. That is why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive and nobody was performing the way SHINee was doing it. When SHINee debuted in 2008, all the members were teenagers -- Key was only 16 -- and they were one of the youngest groups at the time. However, even then, they were shocking everyone with their talent. SHINee was the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing intense choreography and still maintain stable vocals. Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee was the group that changed the industry and proved that if you wanted to compete you needed to up your game. And although, as a member of SHINee, Key is considered one of the top vocalists in the industry, he is also a lead rapper. So he can literally do it all. Key is also considered SHINee's dance copy machine. He has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He has a photographic memory when it comes to choreography, so he only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is an unbelievably skilled dancer, who can take any dance and make it his own. And on top of all that, he is SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. He is one of the best non-native English speakers in Kpop. In middle school he studied for a short time in Australia and New York, and he said his grandma had an English tutor when he was growing up, so he is fluent in western culture. SHINee are always on another level and they are constantly outdoing themselves with every new project. It amazes me after almost 15 years that SHINee can still continue to reinvent the Kpop industry with every new release, whether it's as a group project or one of the member's solos, and yet they do it every time without fail. SHINee are the originators and trendsetters of everything you see Kpop groups doing today. SHINee where designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song and dance SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never see the exact same style or sound from them in any of their songs or dances. Nothing you hear from them or the members' solos will ever be exactly like anything you have ever seen or heard before, and yet it will be very much "their style." The members of SHINee raise the bar even higher with every performance. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D Now you have to check out Key's dance practices for "Gasoline," "Villain (ft. Jeno from NCT-Dream)" and "Killer." As the title of the song indicates, this choreography is killer and when you see it without any cuts or edits you will die. LOL

14:18 Yes it does. References his childhood, his SHINee members etc. Shawols had a good time finding each piece of reference. 😅 14:43 His Vocals are Insane. He is Insane. 15:03 As it does us all. 15:37 I mean... We have been saying THIS for like 15 years now.🤭🤭 17:13 That's why Circle is a good title for the song. It gives such a rounded emotion. Like a roller-coaster.. 17:42 My church girl heart when the Choir came in. I am still finding a way to sing this in church, but I don't speak Korean.😭. 18:15 My friend in the choir said the same thing. She said it's crazy how such instrumentals still didn't overshadow his voice, but blended really well. 18:48 Unique is the word. This is the closest thing to a Kpop+Gospel intersection, for me. Nobody can change my mind 19:01 An article I read once described Onew as "An idol who puts his heart on his sleeves and lets his arts speak for him". There's just something about him that makes everyone conclude he must be a genuine person. And he is. Also, Circle is such a good album.

Yeah more SHINee!!! Can't wait for everything we get to see from them over the next few months! You checked out Heartbreak before, Minho also has a previous MV for I'm Home, all 3 are melancholy, chill and acting focused showing no choreo at all (he does dance in his performances). Chase is a laidback krnb album, my favourite is Waterfall which features Lim Kim. Killer was the title track for the repack of Gasoline, the album packaging was amazing again it was like a SNES game case with a mini booklet like a cartridge inside! I'd love to see your reaction to more of Key's MVs, recent bside ones like Easy and Another Life as well as his pre-enlistment ones like Forever Yours (ft Sistar Soyou), I Wanna Be (ft GIdle Soyeon) and Cold (ft Hanhae)! I think you'd enjoy his song Heartless from the repack too! Did you see his song Villain with NCT's Jeno? The dance practise is amazing, as is the one for Bound. Both Minho and Onew said for their most recent albums that they focused on the type of music they enjoy listening to, Onew's Dice was him pushing himself to experiment with genres while his debut album Voice was more "expected of him" ballads. He has MVs for Blue and an animated one for his amazing single Starry Night, he has a lot of live clip MVs for his bsides that really show off his voice too, my favourites are Love Phobia with guitarist Sungha Jung and Sunshine with AKMU Suhyun. Btw Taemin has fanmeetings this weekend that will be broadcast live, I'm sure there will be some amazing performance clips if you keep an eye out to watch in your own time!

i hope you can do an album listen because the rest of the songs are incredible, it's definitely not an album you hear in kpop, more of a singer songwriter sound. jinki said that he was going more for a 'mood' album for the concept and that it's an album that sm would definitely not release on their own. he'd been thinking about the title since last year, probably around dice or life goes on albums, and asked his friend and legendary lyricists kim eana to write the lyrics according to his specific vision. circle is basically the circular quality of life we may or may not notice and he also uses this for the rest of the songs, where you feel like you've lived a whole year/life as you listen to them and come back to circle. and with the teasers leading up to the release with motifs of sun, wind, cloud and ocean, you can really feel the album's completeness.

2:46 I love the prominent bass too. It blends with his low tone. 4:13 Iol😅💔. It was an MV but i was mad they beat him up pretty badly. 4:58 That reliving part is so relatable. 5:05 I AGREE! SHINee as a group sing a lot on high Keys. Which Minho also does, but he has a lower range which he has actually trained hard to expand and this song is proof of it. But, naturally, he is just more of a baritone. And singing on lower key is just cool for him. 5:38 I'd do that too, if i were him.😌😅 5:57 He participated in the filming and directing of the MV too. 6:02 Ikr. I keep saying it. The exact same way you did. 6:58 Another yes. RnB is one of my favourite genres. And I love that he went that part, cos his voice really fits it well... 7:10 Yup. 😅😅 Minho really be like "Hey, this is my first EP, but don't forget that I am a great actor". He's also a film major.😌💅 Okay now I'm just flexing.😅😅. Thank you for your reaction.

7:34 😅😅. Trust me we all asked him if he had anything to do with the car accident in Minho's MV, because it just looked like a continuation😅. 8:28 the beat right??? Me too. 8:39 that build up in the chorus. 9:48 Team Key, especially for this song, had a very insane sync. I really don't joke with Team Key. They are such good dancers. 10:27 SHARP! Now that's the word that defines Key. His voice and his moves. 10:33 I love this part.🤭 10:44 The day Killer was released, I just imagined how hard they would have trained to dance to such a fast-paced song. 11:03 😅. I think he just goes all out. If Minho's performace is the laidback, soothing kind, Key is like the outburst hyper kind. 11:27 I think they are stones or gems. Key uses a lot of eye makeup/accessories as part of his visual concept😅 11:34 I was fooled too. Sang the chorus only to realise it was delayed.😅 12:54 I think Key really thrives at this retro- glam kinda thing. Can't wait to see his next stuff. 13:02 Heard this sound so much, I think it is engraved in my brain.😅😅😅 14:00 Your struggle is real.😅 Key is a concept king. For real.
