I just found this channel and video and am so thankful! I wanted to make some Christmas items but all the diy tutorials said to use rub n buff! It is so expensive for one small tube! After watching i got shoe polish and and the powder for less than $5 and it works just as well! You are completely right she should link it because none of the videos said there was any kind of alternative!

I would suggest a bit of clear Elmer's glue as a bonding agent so it adheres a bit longer. If you have trouble, heat it with a doubler boiler or wax melter.

I just started to get into crafting and i went to purchase rub n buff, it was very expensive. So i came home and googled how to make homemade rub n buff and your channel was at the top! And thank you for that! I got a pack of 60 packets of mica powder on amazon for $3.00 and clear shoe polish for $1.00! The colors and out beautiful and the craft products look just as amazing as the items produced with store bought rub n buff! For over $5.00 less than one small tube!

This is so cool! This gives me hope for all my purple eyeshadow I'm allergic to but just can't "throw away." ❤ Gonna get some shoe polish tomorrow and make some. 😊

Oh wow, the bunny was so pretty. All the colors were beautiful. I am going to change the color of the frames in my home because most of them are dark wood. I need some brightness.

I love this hack. But, would it be easier to mix by melting the wax into a liquid? Either scoop into a glass container & microwave it 30 second at a time while mixing; or setting tin on a flat pan over the stove. Use pliers to lift can from pan though.

Hmmm I didn’t think of that…perhaps it would work!

This is fantastic Collette‼️🤩😱 I feel like craft supplies can often be SO expensive. So I really appreciate any n all hacks n short cuts n DIY’s we can do ourselves❣️😊💜💜💜 Question: Does it smell? I know back in the day shoe polish had a pretty strong odor to it. Thank you SO very much for sharing‼️💐🌼🌸🌹🌻🌺🌷

This rub n buff grabbed me too. Now, I am a subscriber. I love your "short" version on KZbin as well as this version. BTW, how would I make silver rub n buff? Thanks--you brighten my day.
